Recovery Point West Virginia provides several recovery programs to clients across West Virginia at NO COST. The organization relies on grants, donations, and fundraising to offer our programs to individuals in need. Our goal is to help individuals find lasting recovery from substance use disorders. The organization provides a long-term, residential recovery program based on the peer-driven model of recovery. We offer drop-in recovery coaching services and transitional recovery residences through Recovery Point HER Place. Recovery Point WV programs follow the 12-Step model of Alcoholics Anonymous to help clients find lasting recovery. We also offer board-recognized Peer Recovery credential training at no cost to those with a desire to become certified. Recovery Point WV works to promote hope and recovery across the state. Recovery Point West Virginia consists of:

-A 100-bed men's long-term facility in Huntington
-A 62-bed men's long-term facility in Bluefield
-An 80-bed men's long-term facility in Parkersburg
-A 110-bed women's long-term facility in Charleston
-A drop-in recovery coaching service at HER Place in Huntington
-A 6-bed transitional recovery residence for women in Huntington
-A board-recognized Peer Recovery credential training program

Born and raised in West Virginia, Philip Bowen is a dynamic singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose sound is deeply rooted in Appalachian tradition. He began playing the fiddle at just four years old and has since built a massive following through his high-energy performances and authentic, roots-driven music—amassing more than 1.5 million fans online.

Bowen’s viral rise led to a win on TikTok’s Greatest Talent competition and appearances on legendary stages like The Bluebird Café, 3rd & Lindsley, and NPR’s Mountain Stage. A breakout year in 2023 saw the release of his debut album Old Kanawha, a spotlight at Americanafest, and a run to the semifinals of America’s Got Talent (Season 18), along with shared stages alongside artists like Darius Rucker, 49 Wi******er, and Charles Wesley Godwin.

An accomplished session musician with hundreds of credits, Bowen has worked with artists including Noah Kahan, Sam Barber, and Jenna Paulette, earning praise from Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, and Whiskey Riff. His sophomore album, Appalachia Forever, releases October 10, 2025, followed by his first headlining tour.

John Inghram is an accomplished bassist, songwriter, and producer whose music has left a lasting imprint on Appalachia and far beyond. Known for his virtuosity on the bass and his ability to move seamlessly across genres, John’s career has been shaped by collaboration, curiosity, and a deep respect for musical tradition. His work reflects a rare balance of technical mastery and emotional connection—music that feels as good as it sounds.

As a performer, John has shared the stage with an extraordinary range of artists, spanning jazz, folk, country, rock, and jam traditions. From jazz legends and mentors to contemporary Americana voices, his bass lines have anchored countless unforgettable performances. Whether subtle and supportive or bold and driving, his playing brings clarity, groove, and intention to every musical setting.

Beyond the bass, John is a gifted songwriter and vocalist, crafting genre-bending songs that are both lyrical and danceable. Recovery Point West Virginia is proud to announce that Leah Cook has been named Executive Director, effective February 16, 2026.

Leah brings strong experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and strategic program growth—along with a meaningful history with Recovery Point. She first joined the organization early in her career as a Development Associate, later gaining additional experience elsewhere and earning her master's degree before returning to Recovery Point in 2023 as Vice President of Development. Her work has played a key role in advancing the organization's sustainability and expanding access to recovery services throughout West Virginia.

Board President Rory Isaac shared his enthusiasm for Leah’s appointment, noting her deep understanding of Recovery Point’s mission and her proven ability to support long‑term, peer‑driven recovery.

Reflecting on her appointment, Cook said: 'I am deeply honored to step into the role of Executive Director at Recovery Point. This organization exists because people deserve the time, structure, and support needed to rebuild their lives, and I do not take that responsibility lightly. I am committed to protecting what makes Recovery Point successful while continuing to strengthen our programs,
support our staff, and ensure that everyone who walks through our doors is treated with dignity, compassion, and genuine opportunities for lasting recovery."

We also offer board-recognized Peer Recovery credential training at no cost to those with a desire to become certified. Recovery Point WV works to promote hope and recovery across the state.
