About Dr. Sheinis
Dr. Michael Sheinis grew up in South Florida as the son of a practicing orthodontist. While he spent many years watching his father transform smiles, he eventually chose to follow in his footsteps. After attending Tulane University in New Orleans and earning his bachelor’s degree in science, he received his dental education at the University of Maryland. Dr. Sheinis graduated from dental school with high honors and received numerous awards, after which he went directly into an orthodontic residency at Stony Brook University in New York. While training to become an orthodontist, Dr. Sheinis carried out extensive research on impacted canines and their subsequent side effects as seen via 3-D imaging. His significant findings were ultimately published in the American Journal of Orthodontics.
Dr. Sheinis regularly attends lectures and seminars to keep up to date with the latest orthodontic technology and techniques. He is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists.
When Dr. Sheinis isn’t busy building beautiful Shiney Smiles, he is spending quality time with his wife, Lauren, and their two adorable children Cooper and Gemma.
