PROACT also accepts self-referrals and referrals from community providers. Walk-ins are always welcome.

The Provider Response Organization for Addiction Care & Treatment (PROACT) provides comprehensive assessment, education, intervention and addiction treatment solutions in a single accessible service hub. Bringing together behavioral, social and medical resources from the community, our team works together to deliver care to individuals in every stage of treatment and recovery. Our outpatient medical facility serves as a single regional referral point to assess patients following discharge from local emergency rooms and inpatient detox units and by referral from quick response and other emergency medical response teams.

✨ Employee Spotlight: Jeremy Mount, AGACNP-BC ✨

Jeremy was inspired to work in addiction recovery because he believes patients need compassionate and understanding providers to guide them toward a more stable future.

“Seeing the strength and resilience of individuals in recovery inspires me every day and reinforces my commitment to this work.”

For Jeremy, the small things — remembering a patient’s name, celebrating milestones, or simply listening — can make the biggest difference in a patient’s recovery journey. His focus on empathy and consistency helps build trust and lasting connections. ProAct WV Inc.'s approach stands out because it addresses the whole patient — physical, emotional, and social needs — not just the disease.

His advice for those starting recovery? “Be patient with yourself and trust the process. Recovery isn’t linear, and setbacks don’t mean failure. Surround yourself with support and celebrate every step forward, no matter how small.”

Outside of work, Jeremy is a proud husband and father of two, a mentor for a local robotics program, and stays actively involved in his children’s athletic activities. He also enjoys traveling and quiet downtime with his family to recharge.

Dr. Hansen is the medical director of ProAct WV Inc., leading clinical and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) programs for individuals with substance use disorder.

A pioneer in MAT services with over 15 years of experience, he played a key role in establishing ProAct WV Inc. and continues to advance addiction care in our region. He’s also an assistant professor at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, shaping the next generation of addiction specialists.
