🌟 Join us for an evening of fun! 🌟
We’re teaming up with Project Empower and PRIDE Community Services, Inc. for a Build‑A‑Bin Event on April 16th from 4 PM–6 PM at 100 Recovery Rd, Logan, WV 25601.

Each child will get to create their own sensory bin using everyday, age‑appropriate items—perfect for play, learning, and exploration!

We’d love to see you there for a hands‑on, family‑friendly activity! 🧺✨

We are reaching out to our amazing community for a little help!

💚🧡Healthy Connections is currently working with two families who have recently moved into housing, and we are in need of 4 dressers for their children. Having a place to store clothes and personal items can make a big difference in helping a new house feel like home.

If you have a gently used dresser you would be willing to donate, please send us a message. We are happy to arrange pick up!

We are happy to say we completed our monthly food outreach last week! 💚🧡

This time, we filled reusable bags with ingredients from our Healthy Connections recipe cards—focusing on meals that can be made using food box staples.

We shared our chicken melt recipe (and all the ingredients!) with the wonderful women at Project HOPE.

Simple, practical, and made with love. 🥪✨

The Turning Point Housing Fund at The Point Café is here to help members take the next step toward stable housing.

Eligible members may receive limited financial assistance for:
• Rent
• Security deposits
• Utility deposits or activation fees
• Housing application or identification costs

Our goal is to reduce financial barriers and support members working toward a safe and stable place to live.

Applicants must be in-compliance members of The Point Café.

A BIG congratulations to our 2025 Volunteer of the Year — Michael Divine! 💚🧡

If something needed lifted, built, delivered, moved, fixed, or even a Santa… Michael is the one we called!

He has helped clients move into new homes, assembled furniture for families and us, picked up and dropped off countless donations, supported our Sunshine Day outreach events, and even played Santa to spread holiday cheer. 🎅

Thank you, Michael, for being such a steady, dependable, and kind presence for our team and the families we serve. We appreciate you more than words can say!

As part of our monthly outreach, our new Peer Support Specialist Mae put love into action by baking homemade treats for Branches Domestic Violence Shelter! Small gestures like this help build connection, trust, and community one cookie at a time 🍪.

We’re grateful for Mae’s heart for service and proud to support outreach that reminds folks they’re seen, valued, and cared for.

We’re closing the chapter on another successful Sunshine Day! ☀️📚

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make our ❤️📚 Love in Every Page ❤️📚 - Sunshine Day 🌞 one for the books at The Point Café! From start to finish, this event was filled with connection, resources, and so much community love.

Shout-out to Culture Change Cafe for catering the day with delicious pepperoni rolls, cookies, and sliders, so good! 🤤

Thank you to The Point Café for hosting us and always being such a welcoming, community-centered space.

📣We are excited to introduce Mae Gilbert, our newest Peer Support here at Healthy Connections!

Mae comes to us after 6 incredible years at Harmony House. During her time there, Mae worked her way through multiple roles — from janitorial services to street outreach, coordinated entry, and most recently peer support on the Special Populations Team. That hands-on, boots-on-the-ground experience has given Mae a deep understanding of the barriers people face and the compassion, patience, and persistence it takes to truly support them. Her background is a perfect fit for our team and the work we do every day.

As part of her own recovery journey, Mae made the courageous decision to move from California over 30 years ago to embrace “new people, places, and things.” That lived experience gives her a powerful, authentic perspective in peer support allowing her to meet individuals with empathy, honesty, and hope.

Outside of work, Mae adores spending time with her husband of 43 years, children, and grandchildren. She also helps care for her mom, showing the same dedication and heart at home that she brings to her work.

We’re beyond grateful to have Mae’s experience, wisdom, and heart on our team — please help us give her a warm welcome! 💚🧡
