There's nothing in the world that using today is going to fix.

Picking up today would mean starting over on your sobriety date. It could mean losing things that you've worked so hard to gain. It could mean losing peoples trust that you've been striving to regain. Possibly legal trouble or losing your job. And it could very easily mean the loss of your life.

Using today to cope is abandoning the tools that you have learned to use in recovery to be able deal with life on it's own terms. It's taking a route that no one deserves and that serves no purpose. There is nothing good at all that could come from you picking up that drink or drug. Nothing.

There is so much at stake however. You need to remember that the consequences overshadow the rewards over and over again. You must stay clean and sober through whatever trial it is that you're experiencing in order to come out of it on top. Using will be the ultimate regression.

I'd love to say that it all gets better, that it will get easier. But the fact is that it won't. If you continue to strive for the goals you've set, maintain your sobriety, deal with your issues and learn new ways to cope, YOU will get better at dealing with problems. Situations like the one triggering the thoughts of using will seem like mole hills one day. And life will be easier to deal with.

There's nothing in the world that would be fixed by picking up today. Using a substance of any form to deal with issues that have gone on, are going on, will go on, or "may" go on is only going to block you from healing opportunities that present themselves with those struggles.

Today marks 5 years since Place of Grace began championing freedom for women struggling with addictions.

5 years of...
lives changed.
hope restored.
futures reclaimed.
families redeemed.
freedom found.
prodigals returned.
miracles witnessed.

We are honored to have served these amazing women for the last 5 years and are looking to the future with excitement and promise of what the Lord still has in store for Place of Grace.

Thank you for your support and partnership in making a difference in the lives of women in Huntington County. Together, we can continue to champion freedom, hope, and healing for women in need of residential recovery services.
