April is Alcohol Awareness Month. At River Park Hospital, we see firsthand how alcohol use can impact the mental health, development and future of adolescents. For many teens struggling with addiction, alcohol is often more than a substance—it can be a way of coping with stress, trauma, anxiety, or depression.

Early support can change lives. If you’re a parent, caregiver, or young person, know that help is available and recovery is possible. Let’s work together to educate, support and empower our youth.

Happy World Health Day! 🌍

Today is a great reminder that taking care of your health doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is simply step outside. Fresh air, a walk in nature, or even a few quiet moments in the sunshine can do wonders—not just for your body, but for your mind as well.

Spending time outdoors can help reduce stress, boost mood, improve focus and keep your body moving. Your mental and physical health matter every single day.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

At River Park Hospital, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued and protected. This month, we stand together to raise awareness, support families and help prevent child abuse in our community.

Prevention starts with all of us. By supporting caregivers, promoting healthy relationships and speaking up when something doesn't seem right, we can help create a safer environment for every child.

If you suspect a child may be at risk, don't stay silent - your voice could help protect them and change a life forever. Together, we can build stronger families and safer futures for our children. Let's work together to keep our children safe, today and every day.

Happy Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day to the River Park Hospital RDNs!

Nutrition plays a powerful role in brain health. In psychiatric care, dietitians are part of the multidisciplinary team working to support healing, stability and recovery. From addressing appetite changes and weight fluctuations related to medications, to helping patients rebuild healthy relationships with food, RDNs bring both science and compassion to mental health care. Mental health treatment is stronger when nutrition is part of the conversation!

Today we celebrate our food and nutrition experts who are empowering our patients to live healthier lives through nutrition.
