Me: "It’s probably fine."

Also me: Replays the conversation 47 times, imagines 12 worst-case scenarios, and apologizes for something I didn’t even say.

Have you been abandoning yourself to keep the peace?

It’s easy to fall into the habit of putting everyone else first—quieting your needs, dismissing your feelings, and calling it "being strong." But that’s not strength. That’s self-abandonment.

Self-abandonment looks like:

Saying yes when you want to say no
Silencing your emotions so others stay comfortable
Ignoring your needs until you're running on empty

Therapy is a space where you don’t have to shrink to fit someone else's world. It’s where you learn to come home to yourself again—with compassion, boundaries, and truth.

Let’s do the work of healing together.

📍We offer therapy in-home, in schools/offices, and via telehealth across West Virginia and Ohio.

If even the smallest decisions feel like too much lately… we see you.

When you're carrying so much — for your family, your job, your loved ones — your mind can hit a wall. That constant pressure to choose, respond, fix, or just “figure it out” becomes too heavy. And suddenly, the simplest choices feel paralyzing.

It’s called decision fatigue.

And it’s not because you're broken — it’s because you’ve been strong for too long without enough support.

In therapy, you don’t have to have the answers. You get to show up just as you are — tired, unsure, overwhelmed — and slowly begin to feel safe again making space for you.

💬 We walk with you through the fog.

Recovery isn’t just about staying clean or sober. It’s about healing the mind, body, and heart.

We specialize in therapy for those in long-term recovery living with co-occurring mental health conditions. Whether you’re years into your sobriety or just finding stability, we’re here to support you with compassion, not judgment.

💬 Telehealth or in-person sessions available throughout West Virginia and Ohio.
📍We meet you where you are — at home, in schools, or in your community.

Anxiety can feel like too much... and not enough, all at once.

Too many thoughts. Too much pressure. Not enough rest. Not enough peace.

If you’ve been feeling stuck in your own head — overthinking, worrying, bracing for the next thing to go wrong — I want you to know something:
You’re not broken. You’re not weak. You’re carrying more than your nervous system was built to hold on its own.

Therapy can help. Together, we’ll slow it down.
We’ll figure out what your anxiety is trying to protect you from — and how to soothe it without letting it run your life.

You don’t have to keep pushing through on your own. Whether it’s anxiety that’s always been there or something that’s grown over time, you deserve support that meets you where you are.

We offer therapy in person or online throughout West Virginia and Ohio. When you’re ready, we’re here.

💬 Reach out. Let’s take the weight off, together.

🧠 Attachment Styles & Relationship Conflict: What’s Really Going On? 💔

Do your arguments always feel like a loop?
One person wants to talk, the other pulls away. One feels abandoned, the other feels smothered.
That’s not just miscommunication—it might be an attachment style conflict.

✨ The Anxious–Avoidant Cycle:
One of the most common (and painful) relationship patterns.

🔸 Anxiously Attached Partner:

Craves closeness, reassurance, and connection
Panics or feels rejected when the other pulls away
May become clingy, demanding, or emotionally intense during conflict

🔹 Avoidantly Attached Partner:

Values independence and emotional space
Feels overwhelmed when closeness feels too intense
May shut down, withdraw, or stonewall in the middle of conflict

🔥 What happens?
The anxious partner pushes.
The avoidant partner pulls away.
The more one pursues, the more the other retreats.
Both feel unseen—and the cycle repeats.

But here’s the truth:
💡 This cycle can be broken.

🛠️ Here’s how to start:

Know your attachment style.
Learn what triggers you—and how your reactions affect your partner.
Use “I” statements.
👉 “I feel anxious when I don’t hear from you”
❌ Instead of “You never text me back!”

Regulate your nervous system.
Anxious? Try grounding or journaling before reacting.
Avoidant? Practice staying present and setting boundaries kindly.
Build secure habits together.
Anxious partners need consistency.
Avoidant partners need to know they won’t lose themselves in connection.
Work together to meet in the middle.
Have repair conversations.
Talk after the storm—not in it.
Ask: “What just happened between us, and how can we do it better next time?”

Try therapy.
Individual or couples therapy (like Emotionally Focused Therapy) can help you shift from fear-based reactions to secure, connected patterns.

💬 Yes, anxious and avoidant partners can build a healthy relationship—when both are willing to grow, listen, and show up differently.

If you’re stuck in the cycle, we can help.

💔 Burned by Therapy Before? You're Not Alone.

If you've been hurt, dismissed, or misunderstood by a therapist in the past—we see you. And we're sorry.

Healing is hard enough without having to recover from the very place you went for help. But that experience doesn’t define your worth, and it doesn’t mean you're beyond healing. You deserve a space where your voice matters, your pain is honored, and your healing journey is respected—at your pace.

At PsychShift, we hold space for those who’ve been burned before. We believe in therapy that is compassionate, non-judgmental, and collaborative—not cookie-cutter or controlling.

You don’t have to give up on healing. You just need the right support.

🧡 We're here when you're ready.

🧠 They’re not mad — they’re RAD. 💔

Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) isn’t about being defiant, angry, or “bad.” It’s about survival.

When a child doesn’t form a secure bond early in life — due to neglect, trauma, or inconsistent care — they may struggle to trust, connect, or feel safe with others. That’s RAD.

It can look like extreme mood swings, pushing people away, difficulty with affection, or even seeming “manipulative.” But underneath it all is a child protecting themselves the only way they know how.

💬 At our practice, we see beyond the behaviors. We see the pain. And we help children, teens, and families heal from the inside out.

📍Offering therapy across West Virginia and Ohio — in homes, schools, and online — because connection can begin anywhere.

🖤 Let’s meet RAD with compassion, not judgment. Healing is possible.
