Join the West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance for Veterans Visibility Day at the WV State Capitol Complex on Friday, March 13, 2026. Those who served, supporters and organizations will gather at the State Capitol in the Upper Rotunda to meet with lawmakers and other officials.

Veterans Visibility Day is an important opportunity for our military community to gather and to be honored for their service. We hope that you can be with Secretary Kennedy and staff from the Department of Veterans Assistance for this special day.
Tables are provided to organizations who wish to set up displays or to provide information. We kindly ask if you are interested in participating in this event that you submit your information to the WVDVA by March 1, 2026.

Please send your RSVP or any questions that you may have to Jill Connolly (jill.e.connolly@wv.gov) or Jessica Wintz-Adams (jessica.b.wintz@wv.gov).

On Monday, January 26, the VA clinics (CBOCs) in Prestonsburg, Charleston, Lenore, and Gallipolis will be closed.

The Huntington VA Medical Center is currently planning to open on a two-hour delay at 10:00AM

Schedulers will contact Veterans to reschedule appointments or convert existing appointments to virtual visits. Veterans who have a scheduled appointment and do not hear from us, please call to reschedule.

• Inpatient services remain unaffected.
• For community care appointments, please check with your local provider's care team to confirm appointment availability. The 24/7 Emergency Room at the Huntington VA Medical Center remains open.
• VA Employees: Please work with your supervisor for specific reporting instructions.

If you have an appointment starting before 10:00AM your care team will reach out to reschedule.

Appointments starting at or after 10:00AM will be honored: however, if you feel travel to your facility is unsafe, please do not travel and contact your care team for alternate options.

Thank you for your service!
Warm Regards,

We are sad to announce that one of our veteran residents will be moving south in a few months to be closer to extended family, that being said:
We are also pleased to announce we will have an opening for any qualified veteran in need here in our home as of July 2026. So if you’re aware of any veteran that might be interested, please send them our way. Thank you!

We are so pleased to announce that after a very long dry spell of empty beds, due to many contributing factors starting with the DOGE budget cuts, our Ashby Leach-VA Medical Foster Home for veterans-will have new veteran residents tomorrow and be at full capacity again! Never forget to Thank All of Our Veterans for Their Service!🇺🇸
