Edwards School of Medicine, kicked off the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Summit this morning with a conversation on West Virginia healthcare, leadership and legacy.

Congratulations to Dr. Dana Lycans on recently completing the region's first Bridge-Enhanced® ACL Restoration (BEAR®) procedure at Cabell Huntington Hospital! 👏

The BEAR procedure, developed by Miach Orthopaedics, is the first FDA-approved medical advancement that enables the body to heal its own torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) without the need for a tendon graft.

Marshall Health Network is the only site in West Virginia and the surrounding region offering multiple cutting-edge ACL procedures, including both the BEAR implant and the fertilized ACL technique, which uses bone marrow concentrate, demineralized bone matrix and other biologics to enhance graft healing following ACL reconstruction.

Today, we celebrated the grand opening of Teays Pavilion, which expands access to specialized outpatient services in Putnam County.

Located at 100 Corporate Center Drive in Scott Depot, directly across from our flagship facility in Putnam County, the Pavilion houses dermatology and neurology care, along with MHN's occupational health and toxicology laboratory.

As part of the ceremony, we unveiled a commemorative plaque to recognize Congresswoman Carol Miller for her role in making the Pavilion possible and her commitment to strengthening healthcare throughout southern West Virginia.

Christine Gilkerson, MD, has been named Medical Director of Clinical Efficiency and Patient Flow at Marshall Health Network-St. Mary’s Medical Center. In this new role, Gilkerson will work with hospital teams to help patients return home or transition to the next stage of their care more smoothly and without unnecessary delays.

Beginning today, complimentary valet services will be expanded to the main entrance of the Robert and Lena Shell Medical Outpatient Pavilion, located on the campus of Cabell Huntington Hospital.
