Please join us in congratulating Melanie Akers, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, on her role as vice president of operations for Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) and Hoops Family Children’s Hospital (HFCH).

This role will provide oversight of day-to-day operations and operational efficiencies across CHH and HFCH. Akers’ leadership will focus on ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care while aligning operational performance with MHN’s strategic goals.

Akers has more than 25 years of health care experience and most recently served as vice president of Women’s & Children's Services for MHN.

Please join us in congratulating Eric Stephens, R.EEG T, CLTM, CNIM, R.NCS.T, CNCT, RPSGT, on his new role as Director of Neurophysiology at Marshall Health Network (MHN).

In this role, Stephens will provide systemwide leadership for neurophysiology services, supporting clinical excellence, program development and continued growth across MHN.

Stephens has been at Cabell Huntington Hospital (CHH) for more than 31 years and since 2008, Stephens has served as Clinical Coordinator of Neurophysiology at CHH. In 2016, he also assumed the role of Clinical Coordinator for the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital Pediatric Sleep Disorders Center, where he continues to provide leadership for pediatric sleep services.

In addition to his clinical leadership responsibilities, Stephens serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
