Earl L. Stricker, 83 of Fort Wayne and formerly of Huntington, Huntertown and New Mexico, passed away on Saturday Morning, April 25, 2026, at The Waters of Fort Wayne. He was a 1961 graduate of Huntington High School. Earl's early career included working on the Railroad and being a Fireman. Earl was a wonderful salesman and spent over 50 years mostly selling cars. He loved working for Tom Kelley GM and previously at Evans Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep. Earl loved the outdoors and loved being near the water and in the woods; fishing, hunting, trapping and looking for mushrooms. He enjoyed his younger years on the farm and held onto those memories. He was an avid sports fan and loved his dog, Lucy!

Earl was born on February 18, 1943, in Huntington a son of the late Robert A. and Grace L. (Mote) Stricker.

He was united in marriage to Ruth M. Graft of April 26, 2004, in Tennessee. Ruth survives.

Additional survivors include two sons: Tom (Josie) Stricker of Los Lunas, NM and David (Misty) Stricker of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter: Mandy Chambers of Lima, OH; three brothers: Fred (Marianna) Stricker of Coldwater, MI, Harold (Jacque) Stricker of Cottage Grove, TN and Tom (Nancy) Stricker of Van Wert, OH; three sisters: Anita Bennett of Boise, ID, Carolyn Batdorff and Donna (Jerry) Shupert both of Charlevoix, MI; seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Robert and sister-in-law Carolyn Ruth Stricker; a sister-in-law: Marceline Stricker; two brothers-in-law: Dean Bennett and Delbert Batdorff and son-in-law: Calvin Chambers.

A Christian burial Service will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Serenity Chapel located at 11201 S. Marion Rd. - 35, Marion, Indiana.

David "Dave" Lee Endsley, 75 of Huntington passed away on April 23, 2026 at Lutheran Hospital. Dave was a 1968 graduate of Huntington North High School and was a ten year 4-H member in Huntington County and was a member of the FFA. Dave had worked at Good Humor/Breyers in Huntington for 42 years, retiring in 2013. He was a member of the Emmanuel Community Church and was involved in several ministries at the church. He served as a scout leader for several years. Dave enjoyed fishing, golf, working on his old tractor, photography, traveling and following his grandkids in all of their events. Through his passing, Dave was able to help countless lives by being an organ donor.

Dave was born on May 18, 1950 in Huntington, a son of the late Verne L. and Betty J. (Chenoweth) Endsley.

He was united in marriage to Nita E. Thorne on June 1, 1974 at the Zion Church in Huntington. Nita survives in Huntington.

Additional survivors include two sons: Nathan (Steph) Endsley of Huntington, Seth (Dawn) Endsley of Huntington; a daughter: Rachel Endsley of Waynesville, NC; a sister: Kathy (Dan) McCune of Huntington; a brother: Mike (Glenna) Endsley of Borden, IN; five grandchildren: Cohen, Brody, Silas, Sawyer and Reagan.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at The Branch Emmanuel Community Church, 7227 Bittersweet Moors Dr., Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Memorial service will be held directly following the visitation on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 12:00pm.

Interment will be at the Zion Cemetery in rural Huntington at a later date.

Gary D. Lupp, 58 of Uniondale, passed away Monday morning April 20, 2026 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne after a year long battle with cancer and other health issues. Gary was a 1987 graduate of Norwell High School, where he was a proud member of the band as a percussionist. He attended City Church in Fort Wayne. Gary was an avid Fort Wayne Komets Hockey Fan and had followed the team all over the country for over 20 years. He collected toy tractors and was a big fan of cars, car shows and drum and bugle corps. He enjoyed working on the family farm over the years and spending time at the Markle Hardware Store. Gary loved animals, especially his cat Dandelion.

Gary was born on February 18, 1968 in Bluffton, Indiana the son of Kenneth A. Lupp and Caralene (Fishbaugh) Lupp.

Survivors include his Father: Ken Lupp of Virginia Beach, VA; an Uncle: Harold R. (Connie) Lupp of Landisburg, PA and two cousins: Nicole Bizzle and Chad Lupp.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home, Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle, Indiana.

A Memorial service will also take place on Thursday, April 23, 2026 immediately following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Interment will take place in the Horeb Cemetery, Uniondale, at a later date.

William (Bill) Spencer Haines, 75, formerly of Huntington, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026 surround by family.
Bill was born in Huntington, Indiana on August 26, 1950, to the late Marjorie Spencer Haines Lowe and Richard (Dick) Haines. He is survived by his four daughters: Sarah (Daniel) Haines Gereghty, Christina (Rodrigo) Haines Reyes, Stephanie (Cole Varga) Haines, and Julianne Haines; his siblings Ricki (Bill) Haines Roessler, John (Diane) Haines, Jo Anne (Tim) Haines McKinzie; and his grandchildren: Noah Gereghty, Gwyneth Gereghty, Diego Reyes, Owen Varga, and Cordelia Varga.

Bill had a charming personality. He loved making people laugh and spending time with family, especially his daughters and grandchildren. He always enjoyed helping his neighbors and friends. Bill was a friend to all and beloved by many. He truly had a gift to bring joy and laughter into the lives of all he met. He will be missed.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.

Paul L. Dunnuck, 82 of Markle, passed away Saturday afternoon, April 18, 2026 at the Markle Health and Rehab. After his high school years Paul served in the US Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for several years for Madison Silo Company in Markle, building agricultural silos. Paul also was a bulldozer operator with his brother Bob and worked for Bragg Excavating in Marion. He also made the best steaks on Tuesday nights at Todd's Old Town Tavern in Fort Wayne. Paul was an avid golfer and loved fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time outdoors and being with family and friends. He was a character, one of a kind. He was always making people laugh and clowning around, a real entertainer. Paul had a heart of gold and would do anything for anybody, he didn't know a stranger.

Paul was born on December 4, 1943 in Huntington, a son of the late Thomas J. and Mary C. (Finley) Dunnuck.

Survivors include two brothers: James (Sharon) Dunnuck of Columbia City and Dennis Dunnuck of Ossian; two sister-in-laws: Charlette Dunnuck of Markle and Janet Dunnuck of Bluffton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: John, William "Ed", Robert and Roger Dunnuck.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Vault, 169 E. Morse St., Markle, Indiana.

Jonathan Owen Shultz, 41, was called home, Saturday, April 11, 2026. Leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and passion. He had a smile that could melt hearts, He dedicated himself to living a carefree lifestyle. Jonathan was well-known for his compassionate heart; he always took the time to stop and help those in need. His willingness to lend a hand reflected his caring nature and commitment to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his ability to bring quick laughter, and cheer to any room he entered. Jonathan enjoyed music, singing and especially playing the guitar. He loved adventures and being outdoors, fishing and spending time at the lake with his family. Jonathan's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family, including his aunts and uncles, multiple cousins who cherished spending time with him. Though his time with us was cut far too short, Jonathan's warmth, kindness, and passion for life touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a beautiful reminder to cherish every moment and to help others along the way, with that being said, if you or someone you may know is in crisis or needing someone to talk to, we encourage you to reach out for help or text the Crisis Hotline at 988. His life and spirit will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, our dearest Jonathan. You are loved beyond measure.

Jonathan was born on June 7, 1984 to David and Kathryn (Helvie) Shultz.

Survivors include his father: David Shultz of Huntington; two sons: Zachariah Shultz, Chazz Shultz both of Huntington; Jackie Covey whom he helped raise; a daughter: Brianna Hardy; two brothers: Everett (Sara) Shultz of Franklin, PA, David H. Shultz of Huntington; a grandmother: Phyllis Shultz of Huntington; two grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Shultz.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Forks of the Wabash, located at 3011 W. Park Drive Huntington IN 46750.

A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm at The Forks of the Wabash, 3011 W. Park Drive, Huntington with C.J. Fields officiating with a time of fellowship to follow the service.

Nelson D. Schoeff, 93, of Huntington passed away on April 10, 2026. He was born in Huntington County to Charles and Verna Schoeff. He attended Union Township (Huntington County) High School for eleven years and graduated from Roanoke High School in 1950. He loved sports and was a varsity basketball player throughout his high school years. He also enjoyed fast pitch softball on the Schact Rubber team and several other local teams. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was the NCO of the Post Exchange. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal and Sharpshooters Badge.

After he was honorably discharged in 1955, he married his high school sweetheart, Rosemary Clipp, in Huntington. He retired as a master journeyman insulator in 1993 after 41 years in the trade and was a member of Local 41 in Fort Wayne. He later retired from a part-time position with Kelley Automotive Group in 2002. And, he also volunteered at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. He was previously a member of The Chapel.

He enjoyed all outdoor work and especially riding his John Deere tractor. During their retirement years, he and his wife also traveled extensively throughout the United States in their RV along with their three dogs.

Nelson is survived by his three children, Tim (Myrna) Schoeff, Huntington, Jan (Brian) McDonough, Fort Wayne, and Lynn (Charles) Cole, Pierceton. Also, left to cherish his memory are three grandchildren, Stephanie (John) Stickler, Megan McDonough, and Kevan (Danielle) McDonough as well as three great-grandchildren, Isabella Stickler, Jacob Stickler and Bailey McDonough. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemary, in 2021. He was additionally preceded by his parents and two brothers, Marshall Schoeff and Floyd Wayne Schoeff.

Myers Funeral Home of Huntington is entrusted with the care of Nelson. No services are planned.

Mark E. Schaufelberger, 59 of Bluffton, passed away Saturday afternoon April 11, 2026, surrounded by his family, at the Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. Mark was a 1985 graduate of Hicksville High school in Ohio. Early in his career he worked as a Large Equipment Mechanic for several companies. Most recently he was co-owner and operator, with his wife Sandy and daughter Whitney, of the Markle Do-It-Best Hardware for over 17 years. Mark was a member of the Markle Church of Christ, where he had served as a trustee and was on the security team. He was greatly involved in the Markle community over the years. He was the caretaker of the Markle Cemetery for many years and served on the cemeteries board. He was a board member of the Markle Fish and Game Club Park and loved to serve fish and tenderloin at the annual fish fry. Mark was a two-time Markle Grouch and truly enjoyed the Customer Appreciation Days at the Hardware store. He was a practical joker and his one of a kind laughter was contagious and known by all in the community. Mark loved the outdoors and helping others whenever he was able.

Mark was born on September 5, 1966 in Hicksville, OH a son of the late Mindred A. and Simone L. (Willis) Schaufelberger.

He was united in marriage to Sandra "Sandy" K. Lund on August 5, 1995 at the Markle Church of Christ. She preceded Mark in death on September 17, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters: Whitney (Nick) McBride of Warren, Shelby S. Schaufelberger of Bluffton and Savannah P. (Nolan) Gray of Newburgh, Indiana; a sister: Mary (Mike) Harman of Bryan, Ohio; a brother: Lee Schaufelberger of Mesa, AZ; and three grandchildren: Daniel, Noah and Dinah McBride.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy and his parents.

Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 14, 2026 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle, Indiana.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the church, with one hour of visitation prior to the service.

Interment will take place in the Markle Cemetery.

Lois J. Smith, 82 of Huntington, passed away Friday morning April 10, 2026 at the Markle Health and Rehabilitation. She had worked at Abbtite Enterprise in Middlebury for over twenty years and most recently worked at the McDonald's in Warren for over 10 years. Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flowers and tending to her flowers beds, crafting and fishing.

Lois was born on August 23, 1943 in Huntington, a daughter of the late Elwood D. and Miriam M. (Stetzel) Schoenauer.

She was married to Walter Smith, he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a grandson: Jerry S. Schoenauer of Las Vegas, NV; a granddaughter: Vanessa J. Schoenauer of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters: Janice Young of Andrews, IN and Dawn Snyder-Nelson of Tennessee; four brothers: John Schoenauer of Ohio, Jack Schoenauer of Florida, Jimmie Schoenauer of Virginia and Jerry Schoenauer of Goshen, IN; a daughter in law; Manuela Schoenauer of Michigan and three step-children: Gloria Smith-Holzinger and Vickie Smith-Shaffer both of Huntington and Walter Smith Jr. of Warren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Marvin Schoenauer and three brothers: Roy Snyder Jr., John Snyder and Roger Snyder.

Nancy S. Buckingham, 87, of Warren and formerly of Huntington and Geneva Indiana passed away on Friday April 3, 2026 at Heritage Pointe of Warren. Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Roanoke High School. Nancy was employed by Memcor from 1956 to 1984 and retired after 28 years of service. She was a devoted member of the Pleasant Chapel Church in Roanoke.

Nancy was born on July 6, 1938 in Huntington, a daughter of the late William Dale and Berenice (Rupert) Stetzel.

She was united in marriage to Earl W. Buckingham on February 15, 1968. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1992.

Survivors include two sons: Tom (Becky) Stetzel of Kokomo, and Jeff Stetzel of Markle; two grandchildren: Tyler (Katey) Stetzel of Kokomo and Trey Stetzel of Kokomo and a great grandson: Trenton Stetzel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter: Susan Ann Stetzel; three brothers: Earl Wayne Stetzel, LeRoy D. Stetzel, and Allen "Pete" Stetzel; and two sisters: Mary Eloise Beck and Dortha Mae Souers.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel located at 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington IN 46750.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Geneva Indiana
