We were proud to once again host our annual Quilts of Valor ceremony at Woodlands. This moving tradition brings together our talented quilters and our resident veterans for a celebration of service, sacrifice, and gratitude.

In front of a full house and to the sound of patriotic songs, six of our brave veterans were wrapped in handmade quilts as a symbol of comfort and appreciation:

Woodlands and our brand new Woodlands Marshall Alumni Chapter had the privilege of joining Marshall University during Community Cares Week — a time when the Herd rolls up its sleeves to make campus a better place for students, faculty, and future generations.

We brought a bus full to serve lunch to the incredible workers and volunteers helping with campus improvement projects. From handing out food with smiles to connecting with fellow Sons and Daughters of Marshall, it was a heartwarming reminder of the strong bond between our community and the university.

Thank you, Marshall, for letting us be a part of something so meaningful.

Each spring at Woodlands, a special tradition brings color and beauty to our community - the annual planting of vibrant geraniums in honor of beloved resident Liz Sizemore.

Liz had a deep love for flowers and a gift for bringing joy to others through their beauty. She began this tradition years ago, and it continues to blossom every year thanks to the generous Flower Fund created in her memory.

The Kentucky Derby is a beloved tradition at Woodlands, and our residents are once again getting ready to celebrate in style this weekend - complete with festive hats and plenty of fun! Last year’s Derby party was such a hit that a photo from the event was featured in the nationally distributed Derby Pie calendar for April!
