Hello!
I apologize for not posting lately.
Angela is doing really good for the most part. She gets overwhelmed and frustrated easier than before. Which she hates but I feel will get better in time.
It's truly amazing how far she has come in such a short amount of time. She truly is a trooper.

Late update (we've been watching the fights)

Angela finally got a good and full night's sleep. When I asked her if she slept good last night she said "I slept like a rock".
She had a hot date today with cupcakes her grandson. Caelynn brought both boys over to see their Nana and of course for her to be with her Momma.
Her mom, sister, and niece also came to see her.
A couple people have mentioned coming to see her. Her request at this time is just family.

Today's update...

She was discharged from Princeton around 815 am.
We headed straight to Huntington to follow up with her surgeon. He said everything looks great and he took her staples out. We were in and out in maybe 10 minutes.
Her pick to eat was my mom's homemade mac&cheese but since we couldn't get that today She chose Outback.
She is now at my house getting some much needed rest.

We're 2 days away from being 2 weeks since Angela's surgery.
She has her follow up appt with her surgeon in Huntington tomorrow and will be getting her staples out.
And.....
She's being discharged from rehab in Princeton!! She will be staying with me until she's ready to go home and be on her own.
Therapy will come to her which gives her more independence and hopefully alot less stress and she can focus on what she needs to.

I went and seen Angela today. It was just me and her.....and her new roommate. That woman is on the phone constantly. She will hang up from someone and call someone else.
I tell you this because she's not sleeping now, her roommate never shuts up and they have her as a fall risk so she isn't even allowed to get up. So needless to say her nerves are getting very thin.
Her PT/OT and Speech therapy have all told her she's doing phenomenal she just has to give herself grace.

I'll update tomorrow. The therapists, Dr, and caseworker all have a meeting about her progress and when she will be released

When I talked to Angela this afternoon she asked if I was coming to see her today. My response was "I'm making a pizza (which she loves) then I'll shower and head your way". We were all (Ashlyn & Shane) talking and she whispers "bring me pizza" and also during that conversation she said "bring Callee" (my chiweenie).
Fast forward to me arriving to her room. What did I bring her? Her piece of pizza.....and Callee 🤣🐾🤷‍♀️

What she wants...she gets. 🩷

Angela's daughter Ashlyn posted this today...

no one warned me of the emotional journey this surgery would cause . no one prepared me for how tough it would be to watch the very woman who taught me how to walk and talk learn to walk and talk over again . she is so strong and so determined . there are not enough words in the english language to describe how grateful i am for my mother and for the lord . the therapists at encompass today told her she was “doing phenomenal” and she will tell you that too . each and every day she manages to make us proud with her progress , she is living proof of the power of prayer .

Angela has arrived and is settled in Princeton! Via her Mom.
She did not want to ride in an ambulance for 3 hrs and who could blame her.

She was talking more and her words are coming faster. We laughed quite a few times this evening which a beautiful site.
Caelynn was there and they both got a big hug that both of them needed. It was great seeing her with her mom and daughter sharing old memories.

I'm still amazed at so much advancement in such a short time.
Years ago you stayed in the hospital for 7 days after having a baby...
Now you're out of the hospital after major brain surgery in 7 days.

EXCITING NEWS!!!

All the paperwork etc has been sent and Angela's moving to Princeton for rehabilitation!!

She also got to shower today and wash her hair! She has her pajamas on and is ready to bust out of Huntington.

Cabell Huntingtong hospital has been great! We've gotten to stay with her the entire time. The nurses and staff have all been wonderful to Angela and us.

I am so happy she's doing so good and getting to come a little closer to home.

I may not know some of you but I love you all for your prayers and comments. 🩷🩷🩷

Thank you all for the prayers throughout this journey.
I will update later this evening.

This is from Angela's oldest daughter Caelynn.

Update on mom 11/8:

We have been getting the run around all day. Her doctor told her she would be going “home home”today and doing home health instead of the rehabilitation center but therapy is saying that she needs to do the rehabilitation center.. BUT insurance never approved either home health or the rehabilitation center that we chose yet so because we are still waiting on the approval for either one of those— she is stuck at the hospital another night. She’s obviously upset and frustrated.. but hopefully they can get her transferred out early tomorrow.

But she is doing much better! She has been walking and talking more! She lights up every time I show her the boys on FaceTime. I’m so proud of her and the progress she has made so quickly! 🥹❤️

This is from Angela's mom.
Keep in mind...
**it hasn't even been a week**

It was a very intense day today for Angela today. First doctor came in and said she may be leaving today. He got her hopes up! The PT came and walked her, she done extremely good. She waited for Dee, thoughts running away with as to why she hadn't showed and wasn't answering her calls! (She was asleep from sheer exhaustion). Then the doctor didn't come in til 2.
He told her that if she can walk down and around the halls and nurses station that she will be able to go home tomorrow. That she needs to walk by herself. So we (she) got up, almost as soon as he left and walked down the halls and back. She is so strong, but she doesn't think she healing as fast as she wants! Lol Her blood pressure was a little high but it is way down now. She got cleaned up afterwards and is resting. Better days ahead, I pray!
