We've already shown you Ovie's impressive ability to hit a baseball out of the ballpark...but did you know he can also pitch a mean fastball?

Well, that might be overstating it a bit, but judge for yourself after watching him throw out the first pitch at a Spring Valley High School baseball game a couple seasons ago.

Yesterday, we told you about Ovie P. Otter's famous brother and sister, Harry P. Otter and Beatrix P. Otter, who both live in England. But did you know he also has a very famous third cousin from Russia?

That's right! Alexander "Ovie" Oviechkin is an all-star hockey player for the Washington Capitals in the National Otter Hockey League (NOHL). As a young otter pup, he honed his hockey skills during harsh winters on the Volga River, when the water would ice over.

When he became a professional, he had no use for money, so his team owner paid him in something much more valuable to him - Beluga Sturgeon! Now that he lives in Washington, DC, he prefers to be paid in Potomac River Walleye!

Soon, we will tell you the complete story of Ovie P. Otter, his brother, and sister, who, at less than three months old, were separated from their home, their parents, and each other when floodwaters carried them many miles downstream.

While Ovie landed on the shores of Huntington, WV, his siblings floated further down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers into the Gulf of Mexico, where they were able to climb aboard a cargo ship bound for Southampton, England.

When their ship arrived at the Port of Southampton two weeks later, they were taken in by two different families. Ovie's brother, Harry, was fostered by Albus Severus Potter and his wife, Adelena Delacour Potter, while, by coincidence, Ovie's sister, Beatrix, was fostered by a family of the same last name, Rupert and Victoria Potter.

So, for the last nine years, the Otter siblings have each had unique and different upbringings - all shaped by the wonderfully unique qualities, talents and ancestry of their foster families.

As you can see from these images, Harry has grown into one of the world's most accomplished wizards, while Beatrix has benefited from the knowledge and experience of a long family lineage of brilliant authors.

More on Ovie's story at a later time...

There's nothing I enjoy more than getting the opportunity to meet and make friends with children across the Tri-State area.

One of the first things kids want me to do when I meet them is to give them a "high five," which I'd be more than happy to do if I actually had five fingers. But unfortunately, I only have four.

So kids, I hope it's OK for me to give you a "high four." I'll give you another one the next time I see you! Hope to see you soon!

Hitting a curveball is one of the hardest things to do in sports - especially if you're an otter like me! But with good coaching, and lots of practice, I've learned how to hit that pitch right out of the ballpark.

Life can be difficult at times, too. We all face adversity at some point in our lives. But with the help of OVP HEALTH's behavioral heath experts, we can find the path and the strength to overcome it together.

No matter your age or stage of life, the OVP HEALTH team is ready to provide the listening ear and expert guidance you need.

Hi! As a river otter, I've been swimming my whole life. So I know how important it is to be able to survive and thrive in the water.

Learning to swim is important for safety, health, and enjoyment. It's a vital life skill that can prevent drowning, improve physical fitness, and boost confidence. Swimming provides a full-body workout, enhances mental well-being, and allows for participation in various water activities, and in the heat of summer, few activities are more enjoyable than cooling off at the swimming pool.

Children develop at different rates, and not all are ready to begin swim lessons at exactly the same age. When making your decision, keep your child's emotional maturity, physical and developmental abilities and limitations, and comfort level in the water in mind. And when your child is ready, you can usually find beginner swim lessons available at your local YMCA, community pool, or recreation center.

Ready. Set. Swim!
