Just got back from teaching an incredible HypnoBirthing class for the surrogate, her partner, and the parents to be! So excited to get to be a part of another surrogacy birth! I love how HypnoBirthing teaches people to trust their bodies (and that of the gestational carrier) to help make the birth empowering and calm for everyone involved.

When the birthing goddesses grant you a birth before the snowstorm, you leap with joy! This particular birth was an especially significant one. These clients returned for a second time with me. Having the privilege of being part of their first birth, which marked the beginning of their journey into parenthood, and their last birth, which completed their family, is truly a blessing.

Had the privilege of attending a glorious birth at Luminis Health/ Anne Arundle Medical Center. It was a slow start but a fast ending. The ambiance was simply perfect with these led string lights. Grateful for the families that entrust me as their Doula.

A awesome birth client sent me off to my postpartum shift with dinner togo. The tastiest chili and cornbread and was exactly what I needed. So delicious…. The dad came up with the perfect name for what I do. He called me the Gandalf of birth 😍! I accompany and set my clients off on a voyage to uncharted territory. Territory I am familiar with, I help them guide them through their path to birth and into parenthood .

I also had the pleasure of seeing a past birth client at one of my pony events. Boy do I love it when both my worlds collide . Seeing the baby’s I helped get earth side grow into the cutest tiny humans is one part of this career that will never get old 🥰.

I closed out my last postpartum shift with this cute pie . She’s 3 months old now and growing like a little wild flower ! So thankful for the time spent with this family.

I have the best job ever ! This little cutie enjoyed a nice long contact nap. After that, I was able to make her mama some cookies for the weekend. Being a Postpartum Doula is so much more than just baby snuggles. I get to witness mothers transforming into someone they weren’t before. The transformative time of rediscovery. ✨

Watching women become mothers has been one of the greatest gifts in my life besides becoming a mother of my own. The primal rawness of giving birth and caring for a baby is something out of fairy tails. I have apart of the birth and baby world now for over seven years and the experience and knowledge I have gained from each birth is nothing short of a miracle.

With all of that being said I have some exciting news ! I have a few openings coming up for Birth and Postpartum support in June and August. In addition to that I have a good friend and doula that will be joining the doulas of the Doula of Chesapeake team as well as a newer doula that will be available to book with for discounted prices until she gets her certification .

Not sure if you want to invest in a doula but know you want the knowledge that one brings to the table? Thats ok! We will now be offering a hybrid birth package where you can book a doula to come to your home create your birth preferences/birth plan with you. This is a educational course for both mom and partner to navigate hospital policies, interventions and commonly used practices specific to your birthing location and provider practice.
