✨✨✨ Team Member Spotlight ✨✨✨

Meet Connor, our facility's Tennis Manager and one of the friendly faces who helps make our tennis community so special! He loves that his job allows him to meet new people while playing the sport he’s passionate about—truly a win-win. When he’s not on the court, you can find him enjoying his favorite food, fajitas, or listening to rock n’ roll music. One of his favorite travel memories is visiting the beautiful Bahamas, and in his free time, he enjoys playing music and hanging out with his dogs.

Next time you see Connor around the courts, be sure to say hi!

💪 Recovery Wednesday with Trainer Matt K. 💪

Every Wednesday throughout April, we’re breaking down the importance of rest and active recovery — helping you train smarter, recover better, and stay consistent.

For Matt, active recovery is all about keeping things simple and consistent. He incorporates walks, playing basketball, and stretching into his routine to stay loose without overexerting his body.

When he’s feeling sore but still wants to move, he opts for lighter workouts like the stair master, core exercises, and targeting muscles that don’t always get attention—like calves, forearms, and rear delts.

If you’re short on time, a quick 10–15 minute active recovery session can go a long way. Matt suggests focusing on low-impact cardio paired with static stretching to help your body reset and recharge.

Matt says one of the biggest misconceptions about rest days is that you should be completely inactive. In reality, your body benefits from gentle movement to aid recovery. Active recovery helps keep your body loose, improves mobility, and ultimately supports better performance while reducing your risk of injury when it’s time to train hard again.

💪 Recovery Wednesday with Trainer Scott 💪

For Scott, active recovery is all about simple, effective habits like walking and stretching. These low-impact movements help keep the body loose, improve circulation, and support overall recovery.

A quick 10–15 minute routine can go a long way. Scott's recommendation is to start with a dynamic warm-up to increase blood flow and wake up your joints. Then move into a bodyweight flow focused on low-impact movements that build stability and improve mobility. Finish with a cooldown and static stretching to reset your nervous system and enhance flexibility.

Scott says one mistake people often make is ignoring their body’s signals. Rest days aren’t the time to push through exhaustion with heavy lifting or excessive stretching — they’re meant for recovery.

✨✨✨ Team Member Spotlight ✨✨✨

Meet Paul from our EVS team! Who takes great care of the men’s locker room. One of the things Paul enjoys most about his job is the people—both the coworkers he gets to work alongside every day and the members he sees around the club. Being part of a friendly and welcoming environment is what makes the job especially meaningful to him.

When it comes to food, Paul’s favorite is homemade Italian mostaccioli and meatballs. For music, he’s a big fan of the Beatles and progressive classic rock, which fits perfectly with one of his biggest hobbies—playing in a band and recording his own original music.

Paul has also been lucky enough to travel to some incredible places, with Rome and the Cayman Islands standing out as two of his favorites, especially because he was able to experience those trips with his family.

If you see Paul around the club, be sure to say hello and thank him for all the great work he does helping keep things clean and welcoming for everyone!
