Pool Shark
Connie was born in New Richmond, Wisconsin and moved to St. Charles when she was 7. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters and even a cat, at one point. Throughout middle school and high school, she sang alto in choir, which she enjoyed doing. Connie had several jobs in her adult life, working at McDonald’s and Supercuts, to name a few, but her favorite one was working at the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin. After being homeless for a time, Connie ended up living in a Chicago nursing home, but sadly, it was only a two-year program. In fact, it was this same nursing home that suggested Deer Path to Connie, and the rest is history. She’s made a lot of new friends here, and thinks the staff are so friendly, but most of all, she absolutely LOVES her independence. When asked how she would describe herself, she quickly said “funny!” She can always be seen with a huge smile on her face and is super easy to get along with. Some fun facts about Connie, she loves watching scary movies, enjoys playing pool and even considers herself a “pool shark” when playing with the right stick. She’s so proud of the fact that she’s no longer homeless and we here at Deer Path are thrilled that she chose us.
