So many things go into achieving a positive birth experience. Having a Doula on your birth team increases the chances of you experiencing the birth you have envisioned. Not everything goes as planned, but a Doula can help you prepare, navigate and advocate on your behalf so that no matter what, you feel like you were empowered through it all.

One of the most exciting things to happen in a long time!!!!!! I’m so happy and you’re going to be too!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

It’s been a while since I’ve shared just about me, but I think it’s important now and then to show you the face and person behind Imagine Birth. 🤍

Hi… I’m Paige.

I’m a birth doula, mentor, business owner, mother, grandmother, and someone who truly believes birth deserves to be supported with presence, education, intuition, and deep respect.

Birth work found me in such a personal way. After my own cesarean birth experience, I began looking at birth differently. I became passionate about helping women feel seen, informed, supported, and safe as they walk through one of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives.

Over the years, this work has become so much more than attending births for me. It’s sitting on floors during prenatal visits talking through fears and hopes. It’s middle-of-the-night phone calls. It’s reminding someone they are capable when things feel overwhelming. It’s protecting the atmosphere in a birth space. It’s helping partners feel confident and included too.

I’ve now supported births that lasted just a few hours and others that stretched over days… and every single one has reminded me that birth is never “one size fits all.” Every family carries their own story into the room.

Over the years, another unexpected passion grew from this work… mentoring newer doulas. I love creating space for them to learn, ask questions, grow in confidence, and find their own rhythm in supporting families through birth.

Outside of birth work, I’m someone who loves slow mornings, meaningful conversations, gardening (I’m in my plant era ☺️), cozy spaces, good food, and creating beauty and calm wherever I can. I care deeply about relationships and connection, and I think that naturally pours into the way I support my clients.

If you’ve trusted me to walk alongside you during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum… thank you. Truly. Being invited into such sacred moments of people’s lives is something I never take lightly.

And if you’re new here… I’m really glad you found your way to this page. 🤍

xo,
Paige

🚨🚨 BREAKING: Research catches up with physiology....

Don't want to push for a long time in labor? Just don't push for a while and use gravity. Then you might end up pushing less than 15 minutes!

Is purple pushing FINALLY on its way out? While many facilities and providers have stepped away from strong and forceful purple pushing, variations of it still exist. This often leaves parents pushing for 1, 2, or even 3 hours - especially in first births and with epidurals.

Despite awareness of the fetal ejection reflex and birth being a normal physiological process, modern obstetrics left many believing we MUST push as soon as we reach full dilation.

Yet this often leaves moms pushing for hours.

Research from Besançon University Hospital, France looked at over 10,000 term singleton births.

Their research concluded: Under a delayed pushing policy of up to 3 hours, active pushing remained less than 15 minutes, supporting high rates of spontaneous vaginal birth and potentially reducing the need for instrumental delivery.

While there are occasional situations where directed pushing might be indicated (baby showing signs if distress, signs of cord compression, etc.), research is showing what midwives, many l&d nurses, and doulas have observed: birth needs patience.

👇🏽 Did you labor down or push as soon as you were fully dilated?

Study below.

I have someone really special I’ve been quietly pouring into over here 🤍

I want to introduce you to our newest Associate Doula, Ella Kirkland.

The way I bring doulas into this work matters deeply to me. I take a hands-on, mentorship-driven approach so that every doula who supports Imagine Birth families is growing with intention, support, and care behind them.

Ella is already stepping into this in such a beautiful way. She is incredibly invested, thoughtful, and already so knowledgeable about birth. Even in these early stages, her passion is so clear—and that’s always what I look for first.

She has completed 2 of the 5 workshops I personally lead within my mentorship program and has already attended her first birth alongside me. Watching her step into that space with curiosity and care has been really special.

And one of my favorite things about her… her love for birth started long before this. She grew up on a farm, watching new life come into the world, and that connection has stayed with her. There’s something really grounded and intuitive about the way she approaches this work because of it.

I’m so excited to continue mentoring her as she grows into the doula she’s becoming.

Just wait until you meet her ✨

There’s something about being invited into a birth space that never feels ordinary to us.

Every time we walk into a room like this, we know we’re stepping into one of the most vulnerable, powerful, life-changing moments a family will ever experience. And the fact that you trust us to be there with you… it’s not something we take lightly.

To our clients, past and present… you are the heart of why we do this work. You’ve let us witness your strength, your fears, your joy, your transformation. You’ve trusted us with your stories, your bodies, your babies.

And somehow, every single time, we walk away feeling like we received more than we gave.

This work is not just support during labor. It’s connection. It’s presence. It’s holding space in a way that words can’t always explain.

To the fellow doulas in our community who step in, back us up, and care for our clients like their own when we need it most… we see you, and we’re so grateful to be doing this work alongside you.

So at the end of this World Doula Week, we just want to say thank you. For choosing us. For letting us witness you. For allowing us to be a small part of something so big.
It means everything.
