To say that these past few months have been an emotional roller-coaster is an understatement. I'm sad to have had to leave the place that we carefully designed and built. I'm grieving the space that brought so much joy to our families. But I'm delighted to be in a place that has always felt like home. I can't go through an entire week of celebrating play therapy without celebrating this amazing team. Each and everyone of them has put in countless hours of research, learning, and education to be the best that they can be for the families in our community. When it comes to play therapy, they are the bees knees. I am eternally grateful to have them on my side.

In the playroom children often process through similar things that we would also address in talk therapy. Where an adult might say "I'm overwhelmed," the child might throw all the toys on the floor and make loud noises.

Because the emotional centers of the brain develop before the speaking/thinking centers, kids process through their internal experiences through action and play.

Play therapists are trained to interpret the play. Through this interpretation, children can feel heard and seen by the adults in their lives.
