This Thanksgiving, we’re especially grateful for stories like Emmy’s. ❤️

At just 5 months old, Emmy's parents sensed something wasn’t right. An echocardiogram at our Huntsville Hospital Heart Center Pediatric Cardiology Clinic revealed a hole in her heart.

Because this specialized care exists right here in North Alabama, her family found answers just minutes from home.

In its first year, our clinic cared for nearly 1,900 children. But with more families seeking care each week, one echo machine can’t keep up.

This season of gratitude, your gift can help us add a second echo machine — doubling the number of children we can serve and expanding capabilities with advanced technology, including fetal echos for expectant mothers, 4D imaging and stress tests for athletes.

Today and every day, we’re thankful for a community that cares.

Our 40th annual BMW Brunch was truly one for the history books.
With 575 attendees, this year marked our largest brunch yet, and the impact reflected the moment.

For 40 years, this event has been rooted in the vision of the Shields family, nurtured and expanded by the Jones family, and inspired by the legacy of Lee Coggins, whose deep faith and compassion for women walking through gynecologic cancer continue to inspire the work done in her honor.

Thanks to the generosity in the room — and Century BMW’s commitment to match every dollar — we are thrilled to share that we officially reached $1 million for the Lee Coggins Patient Care Fund!

Lee’s Fund provides support for women battling gynecologic cancer at Huntsville Hospital. This includes help with utilities, transportation, comfort items during chemotherapy and access to wigs that restore confidence during a difficult season. Each gift honors Lee’s belief that no woman should face cancer without the support and encouragement she so faithfully shared with others.

Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsors for making this milestone possible:
Century BMW,
Danielle and Deke Damson,
Regions Private Wealth Management,
and the Wicks Family Foundation.

Here is to 40 years of community, compassion and impact.

Thank you for AAPI (American Association of Physicians of Indian Descent) Alabama for their generous donation toward a special partnership with HHF and HH Heart Center to screen members of the Indian community.

People of Indian descent have a 4-6x higher risk of dangerous blockages and surprise “widow maker” heart attacks, and many times they have no symptoms.

HHF provided free screenings to AAPI and HIA (Huntsville India Association) members, resulting in life-saving interventions for many who were screened.

15 days for 1,500 kids.
That’s how long we have — between now and Giving Tuesday — to raise $86,443 for a second pediatric echocardiogram machine. 💙🩺

This need is urgent — because kids like Kellin can’t wait.

This summer, 11-year-old Kellin went in for a routine dental visit. Everything seemed normal … until the hygienist noticed his blood pressure was dangerously high.

No symptoms. No pain. No warning signs. He looked like a healthy, active kid — but something serious was happening inside.

After readings climbed even higher at urgent care, his mom trusted her instincts and brought him to the Pediatric ER at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children. Within hours, an echocardiogram at our HH Heart Center Pediatric Cardiology Clinic revealed the cause: a critical narrowing of his aorta.

Because our clinic had the right equipment and expertise, it was caught in time. Kellin’s heart — and his future — were saved. ⚾❤️ Today, just three months later, Kellin has had surgery and is back with his teammates and the sport he loves.

Stories like Kellin’s are why this clinic matters.
In just its first year, our team completed 1,500 echocardiograms for children across North Alabama. And the demand keeps growing.

A second echo machine will let us reach 1,500 more kids next year, doubling capacity and enhancing capabilities for our clinic.

Your Giving Tuesday gift can help make that possible.

A beautiful afternoon at The Caring House Housewarming! 🏠🩵

Yesterday, we opened the doors of the new Caring House and welcomed our community into a space built for comfort, connection and healing. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the generous donors who made this milestone possible.

This new space allows us to support not only the children and teens who come to The Caring House, but their parents and caregivers as well — wrapping around whole families as they navigate loss together.

As part of Huntsville Hospital Health System's commitment to caring for our community beyond hospital walls, The Caring House provides free grief support to children and families across North Alabama.

This new home strengthens that mission by allowing our team to offer multiple sessions at once, dedicated art and play therapy spaces, and a calm, welcoming environment designed for healing.

We’re grateful for a community that believes in this work and helps ensure no child has to navigate grief alone.

Thank you for celebrating this exciting new chapter with us! 💛

The Sarah Gayle Gibbs Memorial Foundation supports patients and families enduring long hospital stays in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

The fund was created in honor and memory of Sarah Gayle Gibbs, who would have been in Kindergarten this year. This beautiful mural is as bright as she was and will bring joy to so many kids who would have been her peers.

We are grateful for the many special ways the Gibbs family makes a positive impact for our community through their unimaginable loss. 🧡

Playing for Preemies supports Melissa’s Fund 🏈🩷

In 2010, Rusty and Kristin Bates started Playing for Preemies in honor of their daughter, Lauren, who spent time in our Neonatal ICU.

Years later, they teamed up with their close friends Adam and Dru Shannon, whose daughter, Emma Kate, was also in the NICU.

Each year, they host a football game at Ardmore High School and a summer golf tournament — all to help our tiniest patients through the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund.

Over 15 years, this generous community has raised $163,000 to support NICU babies and families. 💙

Thank you to the Bates and Shannon families, Ardmore High School and everyone who plays, cheers and gives to this special cause.l memor
