When a child needs care beyond what their local hospital can provide, getting them to advanced care quickly can make all the difference.

Thanks to a major grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and The Caring Foundation — along with support from Huntsville Hospital Foundation donors through the 2024 Huntsville Classic, chaired by Christine and Mike Wicks — a new Kids Care Critical Care Transport ambulance is now helping connect critically ill infants and children to advanced pediatric and neonatal care at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children.

Built as an ICU on wheels, this unit allows critical care to begin at the bedside and continue every mile of the journey. Each year, Kids Care transports more than 700 infants and children across North Alabama and southern Tennessee.

To our donors and partners: thank you. Your generosity helps ensure children can reach the right care, at the right time, when it matters most.

For many years, AI Signal Research, Inc. has been a valued partner in supporting the work of The Caring House, and we’re grateful for their lasting commitment to families in our community.

Their recent support helped create the manager’s office in The Caring House’s new location — a meaningful recognition of the steady guidance and behind-the-scenes work that make compassionate grief support possible each day.

We’re thankful for AI Signal Research, Inc.'s partnership and the many ways they continue to bring comfort, healing and hope to children navigating loss. 💙

The Millennium Society Member-Guest Luncheon brought together 75 incredible women for an afternoon of connection, purpose and impact. Each year, members combine their giving to meet important hospital needs — and have a direct voice in where those funds make a difference.

This year, their generosity is helping fund:

➡️ An interactive, touch-free gaming system for the Pediatric Emergency Department at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, creating a more calming, engaging environment for young patients

➡️ New rehabilitation equipment for Huntsville Hospital outpatient physical therapy, giving caregivers advanced tools to help patients rebuild strength and return to daily life sooner

A highlight of the luncheon was a meaningful discussion between HHF President Sarah Savage-Jones and incoming President Amy George on purpose, leadership and the lasting impact of philanthropy.

To every woman who gives as part of the Millennium Society, thank you for helping equip caregivers, comfort patients and strengthen the health of our community. 🩵

Happy Administrative Professionals Day to Ginny Pryor and Tracey James! These two are at the heart of everything that keeps our team running.

Ginny serves as a steady, compassionate resource for both our donors and our team. From helping donors navigate their questions with patience and care to being a trusted first point of contact for employees facing difficult moments through the Employee Emergency Fund, she meets every situation with kindness and grace. 💙

Tracey keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, with an incredible attention to detail and a deep knowledge of our work. She truly embodies what it means to support a team, often saying her greatest joy is making life easier for those around her, and it shows in everything she does. 💚

We are so grateful for the care, dedication and leadership they bring to our team each day.

Parkinson’s disease is more than a movement disorder. It can affect speech, balance, strength and independence. At the Huntsville Hospital Parkinson’s Care Clinic, patients receive interdisciplinary care led by certified professionals who support patients through the physical, cognitive and communication challenges of Parkinson’s.

Through HHF, donors help provide programs that go beyond what insurance covers, including group exercise and voice classes that offer the ongoing support patients like Cindee need to stay active, connected and independent. We are also grateful for support from the Parkinson's Foundation, which helps make this care possible.

This Parkinson’s Awareness Month, help us sustain this care for people with Parkinson's across North Alabama.
