The Huntsville Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine and Center for Rehabilitation, along with a network of sports medicine providers have combined to better serve area high school and Sam Houston State University athletics, cheerleading, dance, USA gymnastics, recreational sports, and coaches. By joining forces, we can create an optimal “TEAM” approach to the athletic injury prevention, treatment, care and rehabilitation of your athletes. Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer will visit your school, academy, or performing arts center, or university each week at a specific time and be capable to (each organization may customize a program to fit their needs):
• Evaluating your athletes’ injuries
• Referring an athlete to a sports medicine physician as indicated
• Providing physician follow-up evaluation
• Serving as a liaison between the physician , parent, coach, and athlete
• Initiate appropriate injury care
• Assisting in strength and conditioning program development
• Detailing a follow-up treatment plan coaches can easily follow
• Assisting with athletic training supply budget development
• Providing Athletic Trainer coverage and workshops for athletic staff members and student athletic trainers in area of athletic training
