Anna with our care team did a 1940’s inspired craft with Silly Putty with our residents today!

Silly Putty was invented in 1943 by General Electric engineer James Wright while attempting to create a synthetic rubber substitute for the US government during World War II. Though it failed as a rubber substitute, the substance—a mix of boric acid and silicone oil—was found to have unique properties, including the ability to transfer newspaper ink, which became a favorite pastime in the 1940s.

Our April Employee of the Month is Crissie! She has been with us a little over a year now! She is a great team player and always shows up for her team and residents! She trains our new employees on the floor and does an excellent job preparing them to succeed. Crissie is from Maine and has been in Alabama 5 years! She loves her pug Trucker and taking him on walks. Crissie is highly engaged with the residents and she shines in everything she does. Let’s congratulate Crissie together! ✨

We want to highlight our amazing resident of the month for April, Shirley! Shirley has been a part of our community for a few years now and she has no doubt made a big impact. She takes pride in her family and takes every opportunity to spend time with her loved ones. Shirley is a lover of all things Disney, bingo, dark chocolate, puzzles, and her faith. She is a very nurturing presence that is seen and felt. She goes out of her way to help everyone around her, and she shows humility and compassion in all she does. When new residents move into the community Shirley takes pride in helping them get acclimated. She also is an expert at storytelling and never fails to make us laugh. She lives life to the fullest and celebrates every holiday extravagantly. We embrace the light she brings to the community!💙
