🏆 Comeback Stronger: Sloan's Story

After facing not one, but two major knee injuries, Sloan Holladay from Westminster Christian Academy refused to let setbacks define her. With expert care from SportsMED’s Dr. Eric Janssen, she underwent two successful surgeries and is now back to competing—stronger than ever. 💪⚾🏈

This year, she’s hitting the field again in softball and flag football and has her eyes set on playing college softball. We’re proud to be part of her journey!

The race proudly supported magic moments, the only wish granting organization exclusively serving children in Alabama with chronic life-threatening or life altering conditions.

🏆 What an incredible evening at the Rocket City Awards!

We were honored to present the SportsMED Student Scholar Athlete of the Year award to two outstanding high school seniors: Sam Rice, a talented golfer from Huntsville High School, and Campbell Irmscher, a multi-sport standout in basketball, soccer, and flag football from Grissom High School.

Both Sam and Campbell embody everything the SportsMED Scholar Athlete Award stands for — excellence in the classroom, leadership on the field, and a commitment to giving back to their community. We are so proud of their achievements and can’t wait to see all the great things they will accomplish in the next chapter of their lives.

A special thank you to Dr. Jack Moore for presenting the award on behalf of SportsMED, and to ESPN The Zone for putting on such a phenomenal event.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s competition and the chance to support even more amazing student athletes!

👏Congrats to our May Scholar Athletes of the Month: Lily Livingston and Brandon Cook! 🥎🏀🏃🏻‍♂️🎳

Lily Livingston is a standout student-athlete at Arab High School with a 3.9 GPA. She excels in both softball and basketball, earning multiple All-State and regional honors in each sport. A North/South All-Star and future NC State softball player, Lily has also completed her Patient Care Technician Certification. Beyond athletics and academics, she is actively involved in community service through organizations like Marshall County Special Olympics, HOSA Hydrates, and the Arab City Senior Citizen Prom.

Brandon Cook is a high-achieving student-athlete at Westminster Christian Academy with a 4.6 weighted GPA. He competes in cross country, bowling, soccer, and indoor track, serving as a two-time captain for both the bowling and cross-country teams. His teams have earned state and sectional honors, and he is recognized as an All-County Bowler. Brandon is also a dedicated leader and scholar, serving as a Beta Club officer and member of NHS, Key Club, and the A Honor Roll. He actively gives back through mission trips, VBS leadership, and volunteering at sports events.
