🇺🇸 On this Veterans Day, we recognize and thank our own Brigadier General Michael Izzo for his lifetime of service - from the US Marine Corps, to the Alabama National Guard, to the Huntsville Police Department. We are so honored to have Mike as our Director of Security.

Our country and our community are stronger because of his dedication and courage. We are truly honored to have him as a part of the SportsMED family.

We’re so proud of the incredible football season our partner schools have had. It’s been an honor for SportsMED to serve as the official medical team for these athletes, and we’re cheering them on tonight and tomorrow night in the first round of the AHSAA State Playoffs!

👏Congrats to our September Athletes of the month: Kylie Peterson and Issac Whetstone. 📣👏

Kylie Peterson, a senior at Buckhorn High School with a 3.96 GPA, is a distinguished student-athlete and leader. A multi-time state and national cheerleading champion, she excels academically as a National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta member and HOSA State Finalist. Passionate about service and healthcare, Kylie actively leads in student government, community outreach, and school ambassador roles, reflecting her drive, compassion, and commitment to becoming a pediatric emergency medicine physician.

Isaac Whetstone, a standout student-athlete at St. John Paul II Catholic High School, with a 3.8 GPA, has achieved remarkable success both in and out of the pool. A three-time 1A–5A State Diving Champion and AAU National Qualifier, he exemplifies dedication, discipline, and excellence in his sport. Beyond athletics, Isaac is a committed scholar and leader—an active member of the National Honor Society and Rho Kappa, and a participant in Capstone Leadership Camp. With over 100 hours of community and civic involvement.
