❄️ Weather Update: Clinic and Office closures for Monday, Jan 26 ❄️
Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our patients and staff, Huntsville Memorial Hospital’s outpatient clinics and services will BE CLOSED Monday, January 26 and plan to re-open Tuesday, weather permitting. The main hospital operations will remain open to serve the community.

This clinic closure includes the following locations:
- HMH Medical Clinic
- HMH Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
- HMH Center for Rehabilitation (PT, OT, and Speech Therapies)
- Women’s Imaging Center
- Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab

Earlier this month, we had the privilege of passing the Kerr County warm-weather collection, gathered over the past few months, to coordinators working in and around the disaster area for distribution. 🧥🧣🧦

With combined efforts Huntsville Memorial Hospital and the Tall Pines Quilt Guild collected over 30 quilts and blankets and more than 15 bags of jackets, pants, warm weather items, and other clothing. Through the Hill Country Quilt Guild, who have already collected and distributed 500+ quilts and blankets, a relationship was utilized to get these collections into the hands relief centers working with the Guild. Now that winter has arrived, needs are changing and they will work to process and distribute items to folks that are still recovering from losing everything. Thank you to these groups of women (and likely many of their husbands) for this amazing effort.

And thank you, staff and friends, for your generous contributions of blankets, jackets, warm clothes, and comfort items. It is with no small amount of emotion that I report the items given were both high in quantity and quality.

Recently, Joe Schorre, Director of Cardiopulmonary and Emergency Management, on behalf of the Huntsville Memorial Hospital administration team, presented Walker County Amateur Radio Group President, Clenard Hightower - KC5IYA - with an Appreciation Award for the clubs efforts to the hospital's emergency management radio program. Additionally, club member Rick Fell - WA2HRF - was also recognized with an Award of Appreciation for his individual involvement, for his countelss man hours of work in reconfiguring the commercial and amature radio devices for HMH's downtime communications capabilities. This is a months long, ongoing project that has help make many strides in the right direction with a lot of work still to come to ensure continuity of internal and external communications through all levels of disaster.
