When 5-month-old Mateo’s pediatrician noticed he wasn't gaining weight, our Pediatric Cardiology team quickly performed an echocardiogram and discovered two heart defects.

After months of follow-up, teamwork, and overcoming obstacles, Mateo had a successful heart surgery in Birmingham and is now thriving!

His mom summed up their experience, sharing, “The doctors know exactly what they’re doing and Dr. Caicedo is the best.”

We are proud to provide families in North Alabama access to specialized pediatric heart care so their focus can stay where it belongs, on their child. 💙

We are proud to be part of the official medical team that supports Huntsville City FC. Every player on the squad undergoes cardiac screenings before being allowed to participate. Dr. Daniel Caicedo and Dr. Kanya Singhapakdi helped test some of the youngest players on the HCFC squad to ensure they were fit to take the pitch.

We appreciate Marshall, Zach Barrett, and Bryce Boneau for their recent visit. We wish them the best of luck as they head into the playoffs!

Congratulations to our Heart Failure team! We're so proud to celebrate their achievement of the Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Plus with Target: Heart Failure Optimal with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award from the American Heart Association.

The celebration this week was a way to honor their efforts. We're grateful for all they do for our community and couldn't be more proud of this well-deserved national recognition. ❤️🙌

The progress continues! ✅💜 We had a wonderful day with our very first heart surgery patient, who returned for her second post-op appointment. The whole team is incredibly proud of how far she's come on her recovery journey!

Every step of the way, she's received dedicated, compassionate care from our amazing physicians and care team at Huntsville Hospital Heart Center Pediatric Cardiology.

We're celebrating all her strides forward and look forward to her continued healing and a healthier future!

We recently celebrated a huge milestone at our Huntsville Hospital Heart Center Pediatric Cardiology clinic. Our very first heart surgery patient returned for her initial post-op appointment. ❤️

Her journey, from diagnosis to recovery, has been a testament to her strength, the support of her family and community, and the dedicated, compassionate care she received every step of the way from our entire team.

Seeing her bright smile and amazing progress today fills us with immense pride. Here's to her continued healing and a healthier future!

The HH Heart Center has a brand-new, state-of-the-art CT scanner, made possible by the generous Huntsville Hospital Foundation. This machine can create detailed pictures of a patient's heart, allowing cardiologists to identify stenosis at a mere 0.2mm, which is a vast improvement over older scanners.

This investment is already making a huge difference, slashing diagnostic wait times from months to weeks and putting us at the forefront of coronary CT imaging nationwide! ❤️🏥 A massive thank you to the 2023 Huntsville Classic sponsors and donors for making this a reality.
