My awesome supervisor, Jane Sweeney, LPC-S, NCC, has immediate openings for ALC Supervision in the Madison/ Huntsville area. Persons wishing to be supervised as an Associate Licensed Counselor can contact Jane by email at jane .com or telephone at 256-585-8027. Jane’s method for Supervision is collaborative, using a combination of a Competency Based Approach and a Developmental Approach. In-person supervision is preferred, using virtual supervision on an as-needed basis.

Alabama Counseling Association Chapter II is pleased to announce its 2025 Spring Workshop! This virtual synchronous event will be held on Friday, April 4th from 10 AM to 12 PM central time.
Title: The Ethics of Boundary Setting
Presenter: Lauren S. Grider, ALC, NCC, CCFP
Clinical Supervisor: Jane Sweeney, LPC-S
Attendees will earn 2 hours of NBCC approved continuing education credit, including 2 hours of ethics-focused content.
Cost to ALCA members: $15

Description of the Program:
The presenter will provide an overview of healthy assertiveness and boundary skills commonly utilized in the therapy space. Relevant guidelines from the 2014 ACA Code of Ethics will be highlighted, discussed, and applied. Conflicts commonly encountered in the course of building client assertiveness skills will be identified. Interactive discussion between attendees will be encouraged. Here’s how I took action to accommodate my anxiety and sensory issues at the polls: ✅ I gave myself plenty of time and had a backup plan in case lines were longer than expected. ✅ I brought my noise-canceling headphones and sunglasses. ✅ I had an exciting podcast downloaded and ready to go on my phone. ✅ I brought a snack.
