How to be in tuned with your own body
Mindfulness and layers

S*x. Stress. Desire.
We don’t always realize how deeply they are connected.

When stress rises, your desire may shut down completely or it may increase — and both responses are valid. Your body isn’t failing you… it’s speaking to you.

And the truth is:
🌿 Desire doesn’t only live in the body — it lives in every level of intimacy.
🌿 Physical
🌿 Emotional
🌿 Intellectual
🌿 Spiritual
🌿 S*xual

When even one level is disconnected, desire feels it.
When many levels are disconnected, desire becomes confusing or disappears altogether.

Your body isn’t broken.
Your desire isn’t wrong.
Your stress isn’t a flaw.

It’s an invitation to check in with yourself, reconnect, and breathe again.

And if you’ve been craving deeper conversations about desire, stress, and the layers of intimacy…

✨You’re invited to Fourth Watch: The Healing Circle

A sanctuary for women who are healing, rising, reconnecting, and rediscovering intimacy from the inside out.

No pressure. Just presence, safety, and the freedom to be seen.

Hey sis 💛

It’s Take Back Tuesday is all about noticing the moments that make your body say:

“Mmm… I can relax here.”

Non-sexual intimacy is powerful.
It softens the nervous system, warms the heart, and prepares the body for deeper connection — long before desire ever enters the room.

And because it’s the season of gratitude, I want you to honor the moments where your body actually feels safe, grounded, and cared for.

✨ The tiny cues.
✨ The small kindnesses.
✨ The gentle moments that mean more than people realize.

Now here’s the spicy little truth:
Sometimes the sexiest thing someone can do… is be present.
Not pushy.
Not performative.
Just genuinely there.

So yes —
if your partner wants to offer something today, here’s a hint:

🍽️ Wash the dishes.
Not to “earn” anything.
Not to take over the slides you just posted.
Not to manipulate the moment.

But because true intimacy starts with care, not performance.
Presence is the real foreplay.
Safety is what wakes up the body.
And support is what opens the heart.

THREE WAYS TO BUILD REAL CONNECTION TODAY

✨ 1. Offer without expecting.
“Sit down for a minute, I’ve got this part.”
Pure care… no agenda.

✨ 2. Slow your breathing when you’re with each other.
Your nervous system syncs before your words ever do.

✨ 3. Ask one soft question:
“What would make your body feel supported today?”
You’d be surprised how intimacy grows when safety comes first.

💛 WANT MORE CONVERSATIONS LIKE THIS?

If today’s post stirred something in you…
If it reminded you of the intimacy your body still desires…
If it made you curious about safety, connection, and softness…

You’re invited into
Fourth Watch: The Healing Circle —
our private Facebook sanctuary for women healing, awakening, and learning to be held again.

We laugh here.
We learn here.
We soften here.
We rise here — together.

Drop a “✨” if you want the link, sis.

Please help us welcome Madalyn Stott, LMSW, to Journey to New Beginnings Counseling Services. 💚

Madalyn’s passion for working with women runs deeper than a profession — it comes from a lifelong connection to female-led stories, art, and spaces where women hold each other up. She believes women are the grounding force in our world, yet so often carry their pain quietly while pouring into everyone else.

Her heart for therapy is rooted in honoring that strength and the exhaustion beneath it.
She finds joy in supporting women and teen girls who are stepping into seasons of growth, self-worth, and transformation.

Madalyn specializes in helping clients:
🌿 Rebuild confidence
🌿 Regulate difficult emotions
🌿 Challenge painful beliefs
🌿 Strengthen communication
🌿 Heal from trauma through a trauma-informed therapeutic relationship

She integrates Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and a trauma-informed lens to help clients reconnect with their inner wisdom and take back ownership of their lives.

We are honored to welcome Madalyn’s compassion, grounding presence, and clinical excellence to the Journey to New Beginnings family. She will be a powerful support for the women and teen girls we serve.

Have you noticed your energy shifting lately?
Have you felt a little more tired, withdrawn, or less connected?
Have you caught yourself craving comfort, but not quite knowing how to ask for it?

Daylight savings can quietly affect more than just our sleep — it can touch the way we show up in intimacy, too.

As the days grow shorter and the light fades earlier, our mood, energy, and desire for closeness can change.
Sometimes we pull back when our bodies are really asking for warmth, reassurance, and calm connection.

🌿 This season, give yourself permission to slow down.
🌿 Communicate what you need with gentleness.
🌿 Create moments that remind your body and spirit that safety still exists — even in slower rhythms.

Small acts of presence rebuild intimacy: shared laughter, warm touch, deep breaths, or quiet prayer together.

Intimacy isn’t lost in the darker months — it simply asks to be tended with more light, softness, and care. 🤍

Has your teen seemed distant, anxious, or disconnected lately?

After trauma—especially sexual trauma—pain can show up in ways that are hard to see and even harder to reach.

At Journey to New Beginnings Counseling Services, we specialize in helping teen girls heal, rebuild trust, and feel safe again—within their bodies, relationships, and emotions.

You may notice your teen:

🌿 Avoids touch, eye contact, or emotional conversations
🌿 Withdraws from family or friends
🌿 Struggles with sleep, focus, or sudden mood changes
🌿 Feels “numb” or detached
🌿 Loses motivation or joy in things she once loved

Our trauma-informed therapists use EMDR, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based care to help your teen process, reconnect, and thrive again.

About

Uncertain, unplanned and unwanted experiences often produce feelings of abandonment, guilt, self-consciousness, and loneliness. We often feel tarnished, cheated and robbed. However, the secret lies in you, I am simply here to help you unveil it. As a therapist, I specialize in challenging you to begin the journey of becoming the best you. I am a compassionate but direct therapist providing a safe environment for women seeking support with sexual abuse and assault, depression, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem and emotional regulation.

At Journey to New Beginnings, we help you develop skills that will increase your self-awareness, self-love, and self-acceptance; which will allow for you to create healthy beliefs about yourself, your relationships, your choices, your life and your future.

My goal in counseling is to empower and inspire adolescents and adults to recognize the power the lies within them on their Journey to new beginnings. In addition to counseling, I provide supervision to aspiring social workers, working towards their Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work status.
