💜Rare Disease Day 💚

A little over a year ago, we received information that changed how we understood Reagan’s autism diagnosis thanks to HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology’s Smith Family Clinic for Genomic Medicine

Reagan has a de novo mutation in the TNPO2 gene, a gene that wasn’t even formally described in medical literature until 2020.

At the time, there were only about 30 known cases in the world. She was the second oldest identified.

Her mutation happened spontaneously while she was developing in the womb. Neither her dad nor I carry it. It wasn’t inherited. It wasn’t something we caused.

TNPO2 affects how cells transport important genetic material. In the small group studied so far, it has been linked to developmental delay, low muscle tone, seizures, and other neurological differences which explains her autism symptoms.

She is perfect.
She is cherished.
She is loved beyond words.

There is resilience and fierce advocacy.

Rare doesn’t mean less important.
It just means we are writing the textbook as we go.

What if we get this space, almost 2k square feet of room just for play-based therapies?

This is the current space we're looking at for the play gym (adjacent to other rooms/offices/bathrooms), so this could be ALL PLAY.

What do you think? Contractor is creating. Leasing negotiations are beginning. And I can't wait to disclose this location with you, Madison!

We are AMPING up full speed for Wildling Summer Camp 2026! We are hiring 5 RBTs at the moment, 2 BCBAs, 1 SLP, and 1 OT. We also have some promising camp counselors as well to join us.

More information on Summer Camp coming in the next few weeks- but we really need to onboard some *perfect* candidates to complete our vision for TEAM BASED therapy models in PLAY, naturalistic environments.
