Holidays can bring up big feelings, especially for those coping with loss. 🕯️💛

The Caring House facility dog, Paxton, has a holiday reminder for anyone grieving this season:
You are not alone. Your feelings matter. And it’s okay to miss your person.

That’s a wrap for our inaugural Kangaroo-a-thon! 🦘🤎

Over two weeks, our teams in the Neonatal ICU, Mother Baby, and Labor & Delivery units encouraged families to embrace skin-to-skin, or “kangaroo care,” with their little ones. This meaningful bonding time supports healing, strengthens connection, and promotes healthy development.

We logged 23,323 minutes of skin-to-skin care time from parents who were "hoppy" to participate!

In the spirit of being Wicked for good… 💚✨

Here’s a throwback to our Neonatal ICU nurses who spent hours creating this year's Wizard of Oz–themed Halloween costumes for our tiniest patients. Because at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children, doing good is always in our nature.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday for our 21st Annual Perinatal Conference!

We had a fantastic day filled with expert presentations from Becky Cypher, a dynamic nursing leader with over 35 years of perinatal experience, and Dr. Adrian Lavery, a board-certified neonatologist and pediatrician.

The conference included sessions on fetal monitoring, best practices for documentation, and oxytocin management, all aimed at enhancing perinatal care. 💚

As we celebrate 30 years of helping children and families navigate grief, The Caring House has moved into a beautiful new home on Drake Ave that’s nearly 3x larger than before!

With more space comes more opportunity to support grieving children, teens, and families in our community. From the sand tray room to the volcano room (and even Paxton’s room 🐾), every space is designed to help children express their feelings, heal and find hope.

This free service is made possible through the incredible generosity of Huntsville Hospital Foundation and our community supporters.

Here’s to 30 years of caring and many more to come. 💚🏡

Some patients leave footprints on our hearts, and one special young lady in our pediatric ICU has done just that.

Yesterday, our team stepped up to ensure Ashley didn't miss out on the magic of birthday celebrations. 🎉 They took the initiative to purchase a piñata and treats to organize a surprise party for Ashley because caring for children like her is more than just a job; they become part of our family.

Please join us in wishing Ashley the happiest 12th birthday! 🎂🎈

Our first-ever Kangaroo-a-thon hopped into action this morning! 🦘💛

For the next two weeks, our Mother Baby, Labor & Delivery, and Neonatal Intensive Care units are encouraging families to experience the benefits of kangaroo care, or skin-to-skin contact. This practice helps strengthen bonding, promote healing, and support healthy development for babies. Teams will track their minutes of kangaroo care and enjoy a little friendly competition along the way.

A simple cuddle can make all the difference!
