Foot pain that won’t go away? It might not be just plantar fasciitis 👣
Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of foot pain—but it’s not the only one.
Nerve entrapments in the foot and ankle are often overlooked and can cause very similar symptoms, which is why many people don’t get full relief with typical treatment.
Depending on the cause, symptoms may show up in the heel, arch, ball of the foot, toes, or ankle—and may even radiate.
Common symptoms include:
• Burning
• Tingling
• Numbness
• Sharp or shooting pain
• “Pebble in your shoe” sensation
Common causes of foot pain:
• Plantar fasciitis (inflammation of the plantar fascia)
• Nerve entrapments
• Injury or overuse
• Tight shoes (especially narrow toe boxes or heels)
• Flat feet or high arches
• Arthritis or bone spurs
• Scar tissue
• Diabetes (affects nerve health)
Common nerve-related conditions include:
• Tarsal tunnel syndrome
• Baxter’s nerve entrapment
• Morton’s neuroma
• Medial plantar nerve entrapment
• Peroneal nerve entrapments
• Sural nerve irritation
💡 Why this matters:
If your foot pain isn’t improving, it may be because the underlying cause hasn’t been fully identified.
💥 Shockwave therapy is an evidence-based treatment that may help both:
✔ Chronic plantar fasciitis
✔ Certain nerve-related and soft tissue conditions
It works FAST by:
• Improving blood flow
• Reducing chronic inflammation
• Promoting tissue healing
• Decreasing pain sensitivity
