Time for my 2024 statistics! Pretty sure this has been my busiest year as a midwife. I’m NOT doing it again next year! 🤣 But I welcomed many wonderful babies into the world and spent time with many loving families. I love you all so much! 💕

I’m a little behind on posting about births (too busy being at them!) This big guy decided to wait until 41 weeks and 5 days before making his appearance, but that is still a variation of normal. I’ve been surprised by how much anxiety it causes people who know little about birth when a mother carries past her due date. They don’t know why, but they’re sure something’s very wrong! 🤣
But he picked his birthday the day of the eclipse, and birth was just fine. He cried right away and breastfed easily being so mature. At 8 lb 10 oz, he was not too big for his mama to deliver. Another home birth safe and sound, with a happy and thriving Mom and baby!
