CCS Friends!
"Recovery is an ongoing process, for both the addict and his or her family. In recovery, there is hope. And hope is a wonderful thing." ~Elevation Behavioral Health
It’s been a busy September rolling out our Su***de Awareness initiative and by now many of our communities are enjoying Homecoming activities. But this week, CCS set aside two additional days of recognition for our valued Addiction Providers and the clients & families they serve.
• National Addiction Professionals Day, Saturday, September 20, 2025
• Substance Use Recovery Carnival Event, Wednesday, September 24, 2025 Recovery Event!
We are grateful for our partnership with Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) for donating their auditorium as a venue for this event. The carnival environment allowed participants to make meaningful Connections, Collaboration, and Choices with our attending community support partners:
• Center for Independence
• DSS Vocational Rehabilitation
• Hope House Sober Living – Huron, SD
• SMART Recovery
A special thank you to our guest speaker, MaryAnne Weston, for sharing “Gary’s Story” and for speaking about addiction to prescription medication, recovery choices, and the impact addiction has on an individual and their families.
87 individuals attended our event, played carnival games, won door prizes, and enjoyed an amazing meal prepared by Choo Choo BBQ!
Be kind to yourself…One Day at A Time!
