Community Counseling Services of South Dakota Community Counseling Services serves Beadle, Hand, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Lake, Miner, and Moody counties in South Dakota.

Community Counseling Services offers various options for outpatient behavioral health services across South Dakota in the seven counties that we serve: Beadle, Lake, Miner, Moody, Hand, Jerauld, and Kingsbury. CCS provides outpatient psychiatric services, therapy, case management, addiction services and many classes to support those who suffer from any type of mental illness. Our mission is to promote healthy individuals and families in the communities we serve.

Happy 2026!

Enjoy our January Newsletter. This month's focus is Dry January, which encourages us to reexamine our drinking habits. It does not mean you are required to completely abstain from alcohol, but taking the time to rest our drinking guidelines and moderation can make a real positive difference to our overall health!

There are many resources available for anyone to use. Apps like 'Try Dry' and 'Less - Alcohol Tracker' are great options to track drinks, monitor progress, and find community support! Online resources like 'Dry January USA' and the 'Prevention Action Alliance' offer plenty of information. Workbooks like 'The Alcohol Reset' offer a guided 60-day program to reevaluate your relationship with alcohol. Take this information through the rest of the year!

Take some time to educate yourself about the other benefits of participating and look for local resources! If someone you know is partaking in Dry January, offer them words of encouragement, resources, and support throughout this month!

Wishing you a happy holiday season!

I have set up a Christmas Tree in our main lobby to spread awareness about the dangers of impaired driving, especially during the holiday season. Through decorations on our tree, we represent alcohol-related and drug-related accidents in Beadle County.

In South Dakota from January 2024 - December 2025, there were 1,421 impaired driving accidents. Please take a minute to look through the information and data presented!

Remember to stay safe this holiday season and drive sober!
