❤️🤍💙 Veterans Day ❤️🤍💙

Veterans Day is a U.S. federal holiday celebrated on November 11th to honor all individuals who have served in the United States Armed Forces. It is a day to thank and recognize the service of both living and deceased veterans in all American wars 🇺🇸

To honor those who have served is a gift. We celebrated our heroes with a catered lunch from L&R Catering, handmade individual veteran quilts and t-shirts with their branch of service. As always, the best part of the day was visiting with them, hearing their stories and watching their interactions with their fellow veterans.

Special thanks to our Admissions, Guest Services and Activities team for organizing this event!

As you entered the dining area, you may have noticed a table at the front, raised to call your attention to its purpose. This table is reserved to honor our missing loved ones and comrades-in-arms. It is set for one, symbolizing the fact that members of our armed forces are missing from our ranks. They are unable to be with their loved ones and families tonight, so we join with them in this humble tribute.

Today's craft was designing our own turkeys. As always, what makes these turkeys special are the residents that created them 🥰

Each feather has something that they are thankful for. Some are sweet, some are funny, but each one is so very relatable:
God 🙏, seas 🌊, blue skies fresh water, family, Putnam Center/workers, friends, happiness, food, being alive, fishing 🐟, hunting 🦌, Nutty Buddy Bars, music 🎶 , snacks, enjoying life.

From simple pleasures to favorite pastimes, we have so much to be thankful for ❤️

Holy wow! How is it November already?!

This month is all about snuggling in, keeping warm and sharing life's simple pleasures🥰

Feed your faith with our church services on Sundays and Mondays and our Gospel Hymns on Wednesdays. ⛪🙏🎼

Stay healthy and active with Balloon Volleyball, Chair stretches or Ball Toss on Tuesdays. 🎈🏐👩‍🦽

If you love a good snack with a cup of coffee 🧁☕, chatting with your friends , playing games 🎲 and listening to music 🎶, Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays are for you!

If you're competitive and like to trash-talk with your friends, come see us on Wednesdays and Saturdays for Bingo!

The Holidays are coming, and with them comes all those sweet feelings and memories. Come spend some time with us and find out why Putnam Center is such a wonderful place to be ❤️

🥳Success Story: Juanita's Journey🥳

Juanita came to Putnam after a fall at home. After the fall, she couldn't walk, dress herself, and had difficulty getting in and out of bed. Due to complications from the fall, Juanita's diet had to be altered to thickened liquids. When Juanita arrived, she wasn't sure if she was ever going to be able to go home.🙁

However, through her strong will and dedication, coupled with her therapy regime designed by our incredible therapy department, we are happy to report that Juanita is going home!👏💪🙌The best part, Juanita's is no longer altered to thickened liquids which means she can enjoy her favorite drinks!🍹🥤🥂

Congratulations, Juanita! We've enjoyed every step of your journey and we thank you for allowing us to be a part of it!🥰
