We are beyond excited at the prospect of becoming parents through adoption and thank you for taking time to read about us. Rodney grew up on a small farm in southern Minnesota and is the only boy in a family of six children with two older and three younger sisters. He is very close to his family and we love spending time with our two nephews and three nieces. We often have gatherings to celebrate birthdays, holidays and meals as a large group since most of his family lives within 30 minutes. Rodney loves his job as a power sports technician, working on four-wheelers, snowmobiles, jet skis and motorcycles. He loves to snowmobile and takes at least one trip every winter with family and friends to the Rocky Mountains. His interests include hunting, car shows, and restoring vintage snowmobiles. Dawna also grew up on a small farm in southern Minnesota where her dad raised horses. She is the middle child in a family of three girls. Her family lives about 30 minutes away. She is also close to her family and likes to go shopping with her mom and sisters and have the whole family over for dinner. Dawna is a registered nurse at a local hospital. She works part-time, dividing time between being a floor nurse and an infusion nurse. She likes working with and caring for people. Her interests include knitting, crocheting, wildlife and bird watching, music and traveling. We were high school sweethearts and began dating in 2002. We were married in 2007 and now live in rural southern Minnesota on our acreage. We attend car shows in the twin cities and travel throughout Minnesota to watch migrating birds. We love camping, traveling and seeing new sights, and look forward to sharing these experiences with our children someday. We also enjoy nights with home cooked meals and good movies at home. Above all, our favorite “hobby” is people. Whether it is family dinners or holidays, shopping or projects, concerts or movies, we enjoy being around those we love. We live on ten acres, about five miles from a town of 1,200 people. The town has a good school system, daycares, parks, a pool and our church. We are excited that our children will have the chance to grow up with space to enjoy the outdoors, playing with our yellow lab, Mayzie. We love living in the country, but are also fortunate to live 30 minutes from a town of 13,000 people where we both work. As we both come from family-oriented backgrounds, we hope to create a family of our own through adoption. We hope to adopt one or two children and do not have gender or nationality preference. We understand that it is hard to get all the information you want from a letter and would be more than happy to answer any questions. Thank you for considering adoption and we wish you the best through this journey in your life! Rodney and Dawna

In early November we brought home our beautiful baby girl, Ella June. We waited almost 3 years for Noah. If you would have told me we would get our second baby after not even 3 months I would have never believed you. Never. But God has perfect timing and he has this way of saying to me, "So you like to plan, Dawna?...hahaha". We found out about Ella 15 hours before hand and the next few days were some of the hardest of our life. I don't know that I'm ready to publicly talk about it. Someday. I will say this, Ella was worth fighting for. Our sweet girl is 2 months old and loved beyond belief.

Thank you for your support. We started this journey in 2013 and here we are 4.5 years later with more than we could have ever hoped for.

I've learned so much about adoption and myself over these years. I've learned to trust God. He made me stronger than I ever thought. I've learned that love doesn't have anything to do with DNA. The love that I (we) have for these babies is unreal, but that's a given in adoption, I think. It's the amazing love I have for their birth families that surprised me. Pretty much the saying, "Adoption is love", is spot on.

I’m in Utah visiting my long time best friend and we ventured down to Zion National Park. When getting up we both put on our adoption T-shirt’s and we decided to go with it. Throughout the day we received tons of comments, “I love your shirt” being the most common. It was honestly the most comments I’ve ever received on something I’m wearing, including my wedding day.

We hiked to Angels Landing. Most of these pictures are from the last half mile. 1,200 foot drop offs on both sides of the trail. It’s incredibly steep at times and there is usually a chain for you to hold on to. The view at the top was amazing and I really enjoyed the encouragement we received and gave to people that last half mile. I’m so proud of us for doing it.

Traveling and seeing the national parks is a huge passion of mine and Rodney’s. It’s something we plan on doing with our children as they grow. I can’t wait to show them my favorite spots. (Angels landing will not be one of them )

Wow. This is beautiful and powerful. So much truth in this poem.

Today is Noah’s “gotcha day”!! A year ago today we went to court and Noah became legally ours. What a day that was. Lots of nerves and lots of emotions! But this little boy was worth every minute of waiting for. We love you, Noah!

Our new adoption cards!! We hand them out to family and friends. Leave them at hotels and restaurants. Post them on bulletin boards. We've given them to doctors and sent them to colleges and churches. It makes the waiting more interesting as we look for new and creative ways to put ourselves out there. The hope is they'll get to the person who is looking for us!

Rodney (Daddy) is finally home from a week of hunting in Colorado. We missed him while he was gone and it's good to have back home. Noah wished Daddy good luck before his trip with his camo and elk photo.
