What does "stimming" look like?

Stimming (self-stimulatory behavior) is a repetitive motion used to calm, stimulate, or express emotions. It is a natural and helpful tool for regulation!

It can look like:

-Using fidget toys.
-Jumping or vocalizing (humming/singing).
-Looking at things from different angles.
-Seeking deep pressure (like a tight hug).

When we understand why someone is stimming, we can meet them with support instead of judgment.

Today is Administrative Professionals Day, and we are celebrating the one and only Miss Destinee! While her title might be Admin Assistant, “assistant” doesn’t even begin to cover the heart and hustle she pours into Clothed in Compassion every single day.

Destinee is truly our “everything” person. You might know her as the friendly voice on the phone, but behind the scenes, she is:

-The Onboarding Expert: Leading our parent consults and making sure every new family feels welcomed and heard.
-The In-House Decorator: Our resident “extraordinaire” who turns our space into a beautiful, joyful environment.
-The Dreamer: A master brainstormer who is always dreaming up new ways alongside Miss Megan to serve our community better.
-The Fundraising Coordinator: Keeping our missions moving forward with her organization and passion.
-The Party Planner: Ensuring every event is intentional, celebrated, and full of life.

Destinee, you are an integral part of this team. From scheduling to dreaming, you keep us running and you keep us inspired. We are so incredibly lucky to have your creativity and compassion at the center of all we do! You’ll never be “just” our admin! 💕

Join us in the comments by showing Destinee some major love today! 👇

How can you support Autism Acceptance Month?

Looking for ways to get involved? Here are 4 simple places to start:

Educate yourself: Read books or listen to podcasts with relevant ASD info.

Donate: Support reputable organizations like The Autism Society of America.

Listen to lived experiences: Follow autistic individuals and their caregivers to hear their unique journeys.

Diversify your media: Look for books and shows that feature neurodivergent characters.

Which one are you starting with today?

🌸 Petals of Appreciation🌸

Our hearts and vases are full! We spent the day cultivating community, sharing stories, and realizing that none of us are walking this path alone.

The Best Moments:

🌸Brunch & Swag: Fueling up and enjoying treats from our amazing sponsors.

🌸Bingo & Breakthroughs: Breaking the ice with “Get to Know You Bingo” and finding common ground in our powerful “Cross the Line” activity.

🌸Bouquet Building: Creating floral masterpieces and snapping photos with new friends.

We came for the flowers, but we stayed for the connection. Thank you to everyone who made this day so vibrant - we’re already counting down to next year!

🌸Petals of Appreciation🌸

This morning, we had the privilege of serving and honoring female caregivers in our community. What a special morning it was!

Diane, the owner of The Body Shop Spa and one of our sponsors, joined us this morning to share a bit about her experience of caregiving and some practical ways to prioritize self-care.

“I need all of you women to take care of yourselves because you are the example to your children of what is most important in life.”

Thank you to all of our sponsors for helping make today possible!

The difference between Knowing and Including.

There is a powerful distinction between awareness and acceptance:

"Awareness is knowing that somebody has autism. Acceptance is when you include a person with autism in your activities."

This month, we challenge you to take that step. Inclusion transforms "awareness" into a meaningful connection.

Please enjoy the exclusive production of “The Snake Attacks the Giraffe and Elephant.”

Miss Maggie’s speech friend and Miss Megan’s OT friend worked together to provide this once in a lifetime show. Shoutout to Ashlee for the incredible tiny piano soundtrack.

Building Independence with Miss Bailey!

The future of OT is bright! As we celebrate National OT Month, we are so excited to have Miss Bailey on the team. As a Future OTR, Miss Bailey is dedicated to meeting children exactly where they are and working alongside families to ensure progress doesn't stop when the session ends.

"I value creating strong connections with both children and their families and believe collaboration is key to supporting progress beyond the therapy session."

Thank you, Miss Bailey, for your commitment to helping our kiddos build independence and confidence!
