This month, we are proud to recognize Brenda Hanavan, Laboratory LIS Specialist, for advancing patient care through innovation and dedication.

After 14 months of planning, testing, and collaboration, Brenda played a key role in successfully implementing laboratory autoverification at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. This milestone now allows approximately 60% of normal lab results to automatically verify in Cerner, reducing turnaround times and improving efficiency. 🧪💻

With this advancement, laboratory technologists can focus their expertise on complex results requiring closer review, strengthening accuracy and patient safety. Most importantly, patients and providers receive faster, more reliable results to support timely care.

Brenda’s persistence, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence reflect the very best of our mission. We are grateful for her leadership and proud to celebrate her impact. 👏

We’re proud to recognize two outstanding team members for the dedication they bring to their roles each day.

🌼 Blake Bayer, RN | ICU
Blake was nominated for his exceptional bedside care, advocacy, and commitment to excellence. His nominator shared that during a recent patient admission from the ER, Blake stepped in seamlessly, taking initiative to coordinate care and thoughtfully advocate for his patient even before they arrived to the unit. Throughout his shift, he demonstrated tremendous knowledge, confidence, and compassion while remaining attentive and innovative in his approach to care.

🐝 Terri Graham | Primary Care
Terri was recognized for going above and beyond during a busy clinic day. When she noticed a child wasn’t feeling well while accompanying a family member for another appointment, she immediately acted to ensure the child could be seen promptly. Her quick thinking and attentive care made the experience seamless and reassuring for the family. One parent shared, “Thank you, Terri, for noticing he wasn’t feeling well and making sure he was seen right away. It meant so much to us.”

We are grateful for the difference Blake and Terri make each day. 💙
