Happy Work Anniversary to Two Incredible Teammates!

✨ Catricia – 2 Years!
Catricia is one of our amazing Hospice Aides. She’s caring, dedicated, and compassionate — always going above and beyond for her patients, their families, and our team. We’re so proud of all that she does and the heart she brings to her work every single day.

✨ Melissa – 4 Years!
Melissa is our incredible Patient Care Manager — and truly the glue that keeps it all together! She wears many hats and somehow manages to keep everyone smiling while supporting our nurses and staff in every way imaginable. From scheduling visits to solving daily puzzles, she does it all with grace and a positive attitude.

We’re so grateful for both of these amazing women and everything they do to make Gentiva Hospice such a special place.

The hospice benefit doesn’t just provide extra layers of care and support—it also brings real financial relief.

When patients elect hospice, the benefit covers:

• Medical supplies like briefs, pads, wound care products, etc.
• Durable medical equipment such as hospital beds, oxygen, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Medications related to the terminal diagnosis.


By shifting those costs away from families and facilities, the savings can easily add up—often $300–$400 per month per patient (sometimes more depending on needs). Additionally, families gain access to skilled nursing, health aides, chaplains, and social workers at no additional cost.

🌟 Team Spotlight: Meet Matthew Reynolds, RN Admissions Nurse 🌟

About Matt:
Matt’s journey to nursing has been anything but ordinary. He started out with a History degree and a minor in Music from Florida State University, then spent over 11 years working in the oilfields. Life took a turn when his child was born prematurely at 28 weeks. After spending 3 months in the NICU, Matt discovered a deep passion for healthcare that would change his life forever. He went on to earn a degree in Respiratory Therapy, then returned to school for Allied Health at Cameron University, and finally graduated with his Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma. Since May 2023, Matt has been proudly serving patients and families with compassion and dedication. Outside of work, Matt enjoys outdoor adventures, spending time with family, playing the piano and guitar, and even singing karaoke.

We are beyond grateful that Matt’s path led him to us here at Gentiva Hospice. His story is a true reminder of how personal experiences inspire extraordinary caregivers!

Meet Alexis Ratley, one of our newest hospice aides!

Alexis has been a CNA since 2018, inspired by her sister’s memory after her passing in 2017. Her journey into caregiving has been fueled by love, compassion, and dedication—and she truly loves what she does. Outside of work, life is all about family! She enjoys spending time with her three wonderful kids and unwinding with a good true crime show. We are so grateful to have her on our Gentiva team, bringing heart and purpose to every patient she serves.

Meet Our Newest Chaplain, Nathan.

Nathan has been in ministry for more than 28 years, pastoring churches in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Louisiana, and Kansas. Following in his father’s footsteps as a military chaplain, Nathan has dedicated his life to serving others with compassion and faith.

He and his wife have been married nearly 24 years and are raising four teenage daughters (plus two giant dogs). In his free time, Nathan enjoys history, reading, hunting, and Renaissance Fairs.

We’re so grateful for the comfort and encouragement he brings to our patients, families, and team.
