I am not a believer in New Year's Resolutions. If you aren't willing to start now, when will you be? But here are some of my personal practices for wellbeing that you may decide to try incorporating into your personal routine.
Meditation: When you wake up earlier than you want to, and you are ruminating in the dark bedroom, remind yourself that all you need to do is move to your meditation space, leave your jammies on, and brag a blanket if you need to. You do not need to be awake or alert for this. π
Journaling: If you are a pitta dosha like me, you have a lot of fuel that needs to be burned, and our thoughts and passion can be intense! This practice always helps take the power out of angry thoughts or frustrations. You can write about whatever you want, plan your day, doodle, what ever comes out of your pen and onto the paper. βοΈ
Affirmations: These can be written, spoken, sung, chanted or thought. I strongly encourage the use of writing your positive affirmations down, then you can track your manifesting progress. Find a mantra/chant that resonates with you, and find a track on Spotify featuring it. Sing along, move your body, just embrace what comes up. π₯°
Movement: This is so crucial to our overall health. Our bodies are designed to move, and in fact they NEED to move in order to function at their peak. I had to end an 18 year career in hairstyling because of the years of standing taking it's toll on my circulation. Imagine what prolonged sitting is doing... π¬
Feast: It may delight you to eat a huge meal in the morning, but you need to wait for the digestive fire to turn on between 7:00 and 9:00 am. Consult your health counselor about the appropriate macros for you at any given phase in life. I am currently revamping my nutrion to support myself entering perimenopause. π³
