After a serious automobile accident that left her with multiple fractures and extreme pain, Elizabeth came to The Pavilion for rehab with one goal: get back to life the way it was before.

“I wanted to be standing, keeping my balance, walking independently, and doing my ADLs again,” she shared.

Mathew “Matt” Martin (Hired October 2023)

Matt grew up in Tampa, Florida and now calls Mashpee on Cape Cod home, where he lives with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he loves family time and putting energy into their new home.

As our Maintenance Director, Matt brings deep knowledge and steady dedication to everything he does. He’s the kind of teammate who jumps in wherever needed, tackles challenges head-on, and never shies away from hard work.

Matt’s top priority every day is keeping our facility safe and running smoothly—helping protect the well-being of everyone who walks through our doors.

“When I first got here, I couldn’t walk at all. My goal was to regain my confidence walking on my own again—and weakness was my biggest barrier.

Allison (OT) was always on time and greeted me with a smile. She taught me how to dress safely, improve my balance, and stand properly. I loved her calm approach—I always looked forward to our sessions and came ready with a smile.

Sam (PT) pushed the hell out of me—no shortcuts! Stairs, bike, walking… she always reminded me I could do more and more, and now here I am, ready to go home today.

Bill (PT) is crazy and funny (in the best way). I really enjoyed his boxing group.

Honestly, everyone in the building—from top to bottom—was helpful. The stay was pleasant, the atmosphere was beautiful, and all departments worked together.”

Gloria’s Pavilion Rehab Story 💙

“Physical therapists helped me reach my goal—to walk using my walker. It was a challenge. As an amputee with a prosthesis, I surprised myself with how far I was able to walk as we went further and further each session. The therapists were so encouraging.

Occupational therapy also made a huge difference—helping me relearn everyday tasks like washing up and combing my hair.”

When asked if she’d return to Pavilion for rehab again:
“YES! I didn’t have to think twice. The therapists, CNAs, and nurses made my choice easy.”

“For me it’s all about attitude. The staff is professional in their specialty field whether it be Physical or Occupational Therapy. Marge (OT) has shown a unique ability to create a relationship with a patient leading to a faster recovery. Sam (PT) is the ultimate trainer! She knows how to get the patient to give maximum effort. She also knows when to ‘back off.’ It is obvious that both of these women take their vocation very seriously to benefit their patient. These women succeeded in my recovery process. Should I need rehabilitation at any time, I would definitely return to the Pavilion!”

To the Pavilion Staff:

I wanted to take a moment to share my gratitude and thanks for the wonderful care and assistance you provided to my wife, Jane. This has been, of course, a very difficult time for me - Jane and I have been married for over 55 years and I have never spent more than a couple of nights away from her. However, knowing she was in such caring, supportive, and professional hands has made this whole experience so much more manageable. All the staff have been incredible, the CNAs, RNs, PTs and OTs, Dr. B, Jacqueline and Lucy, Rebecca and Solange, Becky the dieticians, M.J., Norma and everyone else have been so warm and kind, showing up every day with a big smile even though you all do the most difficult of jobs. Thank you for understanding how important it is to families to know and feel that their loved one is in a safe place with people who care. Jane received excellent care while at the Pavilion and my family and I are incredibly grateful for everything you have done; we truly thank you.

BreatheWell + GracefulMotion = Success at The Pavilion!

After a hospital stay for congestive heart failure, Tom came to The Pavilion needing help with all mobility and daily tasks. With the support of our BreatheWell Pulmonary Program and GracefulMotion movement program, he built his strength, improved his breathing, and got back to doing things on his own. Today, Tom is home—strong, independent, and grateful.

Halloween Boxing at The Pavilion!

Our therapy team put a spooky twist on fitness with a Halloween-themed Boxing Group! Staff and patients showed up in costume spirit, gloves on and smiles all around, proving that rehab can be fun, festive, and fierce—all at the same time.

Nothing like a little “BOO-xing” to build strength, balance, and lots of laughter!
