🥁✨ Back Behind the Drums!✨🥁

During his day service program, Gary visited Atomic Music and played the drums for the first time in the last 8 years! After his amputation, this moment meant so much! 💚

The team at Atomic Music went above and beyond, welcoming him with encouragement and kindness. After hearing his story, they even gifted him with a free set of drumsticks so he can keep the music going!

At My Own Place, we believe independence includes pursuing the things that bring joy, confidence, and purpose. This was more than visit, it was a moment of rediscovery! 🎼

Thank you to the incredible staff at Atomic Music for helping make this day unforgettable!

Please join us in wishing Kater a very Happy 85th birthday!! As the oldest person with us at My Own Place, Kater continues to remind us that age is just a number. From his love of traveling, to keeping us laughing with his jokes, to sharing his voice as a true singer at heart, Kater brings joy everywhere he goes!
This year also marks 25 years of Kater being part of the My Own Place Family, and we couldn't be more grateful to celebrate him. 💚

🎄✨ What a joyful way to celebrate the season!

Our Christmas party was filled with laughter, music , and so many moments worth celebrating. From honoring our incredible staff with length-of-service awards to crowning our door decorating winners, showing off our best dressed looks, and dancing the night away! It was a celebration of community at its best! 💃🕺

We’re so grateful for the dedicated staff that make My Own Place what it is and for the people we support who bring so much joy to every gathering! Add great food, festive fun, and even a visit from Santa (off camera 😉), and it truly felt like the holidays!

🎅🏼🎁 Special thanks to the VFW in Suitland for generously hosting us and providing a wonderful space to celebrate together.
