Philosophy Friday 🌿

Yoga Sutra 1.2 reminds us that yoga is the settling of the fluctuations of the mind.

This settling doesn’t happen all at once.
It happens gradually — through breath, awareness, and steady presence.

Some days the mind feels busy. Some days it feels calmer. Both are part of the practice. Healing is not about forcing stillness, but about returning again and again to what supports steadiness.

Over time, the nervous system learns a new rhythm.
And that, too, is yoga.

Rest as Resistance | Restorative Yoga tonight at 8pm

January invites us to soften the rush and come back home to ourselves. In a world that asks us to constantly produce and push, choosing rest is a powerful act of love.

Tonight’s restorative practice is an offering of stillness—long-held, fully supported postures, gentle breath, and space to integrate the intentions you’ve been carrying into this new year. No striving. No fixing. Just being held.

Come exactly as you are and let rest do the work.

Winter Wellness & Yoga Therapy Retreat ❄️💗
Self-Care, Sister.

This winter, we gather not to push—but to tend.
To rest, restore, and remember that caring for ourselves is a radical act of Love in Action.

Rooted in Yoga as Therapy, this retreat is an invitation to slow down and listen deeply to the body. Through gentle, therapeutic movement, breathwork, rest, and community care, we create space for healing that is both personal and collective. When we choose self-care, we’re not stepping away from the world—we’re resourcing ourselves to show up more fully.

✨ This is for the sister who’s been holding it all.
✨ For the nervous system that needs warmth and safety.
✨ For the heart that’s ready to receive care, not just give it.

Come be held in practice. Come be held in community.
Let this winter be a season of softness, intention, and embodied love.

Yesterday, in honor of MLK Jr. Day, we gathered in community.

Our Love leaders came together in service for a Leadership Summit, and we practiced together in an in-person community class — pausing, reflecting, and remembering the legacy of Dr. King. We anchored ourselves in his words from Strength to Love:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

As we move through this year, may everything we do be grounded in love — in how we lead, how we show up, and how we care for one another.

Grateful for this community and the light we carry forward together. 🌿

🤍

“Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon. It is a weapon unique in history, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.

Today we remember that nonviolence is not passive.
It is disciplined.
It is courageous.
It is rooted in love.

At Love Yoga Studio, we honor this teaching by practicing nonviolence toward ourselves—through breath, rest, and gentle movement—so that we may show up for one another with steadiness and compassion.

May our care for our bodies support the work of healing our communities.

Love in Action đź’›Yoga for Social Justice

On this MLK Day, we gather in movement, breath, and reflection to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and the vision of the Beloved Community.

This free community class is an offering of care — for our bodies, our nervous systems, and our shared humanity. Through gentle yoga and intentional rest, we practice tending to ourselves so we can continue showing up for one another and the work of justice with steadiness and compassion.

Affirmation Monday 🤍

Every small step I take toward healing is meaningful and powerful.

Healing doesn’t ask for urgency.
It doesn’t require perfection.
It unfolds through gentle, consistent moments of care.

Today, honor the steps that may feel quiet or unseen.
They matter.

A Journey Inward 🌿

If your body has ever felt unfamiliar, distant, or hard to inhabit, this workshop is a gentle invitation to return—slowly, kindly, in your own way.

Through trauma-informed yoga, guided forest therapy invitations (indoors or outdoors, your choice), meditation, journaling, and optional supportive sharing, we’ll explore what it means to meet the body not as something to fix, but as a place of connection and care.

There is no expectation to feel “at home.”
Only an invitation to notice, soften, and arrive—exactly as you are.
