Good news for our snowpack in the mountains but bad news for commuters and people who work outside!

A potent low-pressure system will bring numerous rain/snow showers across southeast Oregon and southwest Idaho on Wednesday, becoming scattered/isolated on Thursday. Strong gusty winds, along with a slight chance of lightning/graupel, will accompany the cold front on Wednesday. Snow levels will rapidly lower to valley floors by Wednesday night/Thursday as shower coverage decreases. (Source: https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1416274580544170&set=a.234906745347632)

Wildfire Preparedness Day is 1 month away!

Come enjoy a fun filled family event at the Donnelly Fire Station on May 2nd. 11:00am- 2:00pm. There will be lots of activities and prizes for kids and adults. Plus some free food and drinks sponsored by Idaho Power around lunch time.

The last few wildfire seasons have hit close to home for many of our residents and neighbors, and why it's so important to take steps to improve the wildfire safety of your home and community.

@11:30am kids can meet Smokey Bear and hear his true story and why fire prevention and fire safety is so important.

@12:30pm the Valley County Operations Manager will give a talk about Evacuation Planning and how to make that more effective and efficient for you and your family.

The clean woody debris bin will be at the Donnelly Fire Station May 2nd for those of you doing some yard work before the event. Then back again on May 23-June 6th this year.

Tell your friends and we will see you May 2nd!
