Meet Walter: "We received Walter's autism diagnosis on his third birthday. Which was no surprise we knew long prior to this, however due to COVID it took over a year to receive an official diagnosis. Walter is nonverbal, with thanks to his wonderful team we are learning to communicate through ASL and PECS. He absolutely loves school and thankfully we have an amazing para educator that is there with him throughout his day. Walter craves a lot of sensory input so we try to be as active as possible. He loves going to the trampoline park ( any park to be honest ) he lives for swinging and sliding. At home he is almost always snuggled up to a 'puppy' one of the words he can say clear as day and it melts my heart each time. Walter is very personable, he loves to be the center of attention and will do just about anything to get an applause. I can not wait to see where this journey takes us, I hope we can continue to share our stories and spread awareness on Autism Acceptance💙"
