Noticing your skin feels different as the seasons change?
You’re not imagining it. Fall brings real shifts in how your skin behaves - and if your routine doesn’t adjust, you’ll feel the effects.
These are the changes me and my clients see most:
🍂 Increased dullness - dead skin cells build up faster in drier weather, making skin look flat and lackluster.
🍂 Increased dryness & dehydration - cooler air + indoor heating = less moisture in the skin
🍂 More redness - temperature fluctuations can trigger irritation and flushing
🍂 Slower cell turnover - cooler temps + less sun exposure = skin naturally renews itself more slowly, making texture issues and dullness more noticeable
🍂 Increased TEWL (transepidermal water loss) - The dry air indoors outdoors pulls water from the skin faster - leaving it more dehydrated even if you’re moisturizing.
🍂 Eye area dryness - Chilly wind and heating often hit the delicate eye area first, leading to fine dehydration lines
🍂 Breakouts from seasonal changes - climate shifts and lifestyle changes (comfort foods, stress, less water) can trigger congestion and breakouts
🍂 Dried lips & hands - they’re more exposed to the elements and have fewer oil glands, making them prone to chapping
🍂 Tighter-feeling skin - dehydration and barrier stress can leave the skin feeling tight or itchy
The good news? With a few product and routine tweaks (think richer hydration, gentle exfoliation, and barrier support), your skin can stay balanced, comfortable and glow all fall long 🙌
