Summer fun means more time outside, but even one bad sunburn in childhood can increase the risk of skin cancer later in life. Here's how to keep your little ones protected from harmful rays:

• Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ 15–30 minutes before going outside
• Reapply every 2 hours—or after swimming/sweating
• Dress kids in lightweight, long-sleeve clothing, wide-brimmed hats & UV-blocking sunglasses
• Avoid peak sun hours (10 AM–4 PM) when possible
If Your Child Gets a Sunburn:
• Move to a cool, shaded area as soon as possible
• Use cool compresses or a lukewarm bath to ease discomfort
• Apply aloe vera or gentle moisturizer (avoid petroleum or harsh creams)
• Offer plenty of fluids to stay hydrated
• Seek care if you notice blisters, fever, chills, or fatigue

Here’s how to help your child beat the heat this summer:
☀️Hydrate often—water is best!
