What started as a normal cardio drumming class took a hilarious turn… we were recording the routine to play back later. Activities forgot the routine, therapy stepped in, and suddenly we had our own Footloose moment. Wait until you see who stole the show with Kevin Bacon–worthy moves!

We are so proud to re-share this video, created by our residents who participate in our Dementia Partners Peer Education Program, taught twice a month by our Activities Director, Kelly Smith.

Through this program, our residents are learning how to advocate for dignity in long-term care, especially for peers living with brain changes and dementia. Their efforts highlight the importance of supporting their roommates, dining room table mates, and fellow community members with compassion, respect, and understanding.

This is resident-led advocacy in action, and we couldn’t be more inspired. 💜

This morning our team from Teton Healthcare of Cascadia was honored to be one of the proud sponsors of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Snake River Landing. It was a beautiful day to come together with our community, and several of our team members joined in to show support.

We were especially grateful to bring along a couple of our residents who are part of our Dementia Partners Peer Education Program. Their presence made the day even more meaningful, reminding us why this cause is so close to our hearts.

Walking together was not only about raising awareness but also about standing in solidarity with families, caregivers, and individuals touched by Alzheimer’s. 💜 Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Idaho
