✨A sneak peek into my personal life. As therapists we are taught to self-disclose sparingly and when appropriate and helpful to the client. I’ll admit I self-disclose more than most therapists. This is because I know how one-sided the therapeutic relationship can be. I know all your deep, dark secrets and the client doesn’t know much about me at all. It feels human to know the person on the other end; the therapist.
✨I like to share about my Bipolar journey with clients also diagnosed with Bipolar. This helps clients know they are not alone. I don’t take up the whole session with my problems, but gentle self-disclosure can benefit the client.
✨So here’s a peak at my humble, little family. My husband, Billy, and I have a precious 5-year-old son. We attend a non-denominational church in town where I sing occasionally on the worship team and am a part of a community group with some of our closest friends, who gather weekly. I formerly led Healing Hearts, the women’s mental health support group at our church. Besides singing, I love swing dancing, and Persian and Thai food. Please do yourself a favor and dine at Thai 208 and get the Massaman Curry! It’s delicious! I am a California native and moved to Idaho Falls 7 years ago. My favorite colors are fuchsia and teal.
✨My relationship with Jesus is my most meaningful relationship and I do my best to show Jesus to all I meet.
✨I am *almost a published author! My book will come out in a few weeks. The book is called Warrior Woman and it shares stories from my life about overcoming mental health struggles and more, all while pointing people towards the gospel of Jesus Christ.
✨As for my therapeutic expertise, I work a lot with adults struggling with their mental health with things like depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, relationship issues and PTSD. I specialize in EMDR; an evidence-based approach to help heal trauma. I also offer Christian counseling and spiritual direction.
✨Although more often than not I have a waitlist, please reach out to see if I have availability. For new clients, email or texting is best.
