Why my 48th year was my best year yet
I snuck away for my birthday yesterday and managed to find a few fish.
I met up with my longtime friend Bobby and we floated the Green River in Utah. Somewhere between casts we started talking about the “prime time of life.”
Most people think their prime was in their 20s — the so-called “glory days.”
But it hit me yesterday…
Right now is my prime.
I’m stronger than I was in my late teens and twenties, and honestly I feel better than I ever have.
Looking back on my 48th year, it may have been my best one yet. Here’s why:
1. My faith in Jesus.
This is the foundation for everything else.
2. My relationship with my wife.
Being able to feel safe and vulnerable with your spouse is everything. Thank you,
3. Diet.
I’m not perfect. Lately I’ve probably been closer to 70/30 — meaning about 70% of the time I eat clean. But consistency beats perfection.
4. Movement.
Lifting, cardio, fresh air, and morning sun. Your body was designed to move.
5. Peptides.
I use natural peptides daily and injectables when needed.
6. TRT.
After cancer in my 30s, I only have about half the testosterone production capability of most men. Getting my levels dialed in has been a game changer. Thanks
7. Brain health support.
I started taking a supplement specifically for brain health and I genuinely feel happier most days.
8. I stopped listening to the media.
They profit when people are sick, depressed, and dependent on medications.
I’m excited to see what year 49 brings.
What are you going to do differently this year?
