Three Cs of Halloween safety...

You and your children can celebrate Halloween safely this year by avoiding:
* Crowds
* Confined spaces (closer than 6 feet apart)
* Close contact

If you're celebrating outdoors, masks probably aren't needed, but when indoors, where social distancing isn't possible, masks are a good idea.

Back-to-school tips for stopping germs

School is full of learning ... and germs! You can teach even your youngest children how to avoid spreading germs and protect themselves and others:

Handwashing: Teach your children to wash their hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer regularly.

Vaccinations: Keep your kids' vaccinations updated so they're protected from illnesses like the flu.

Social etiquette: Teach children to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue, or cough and sneeze into their elbow.

Staying home when sick: Keep others safe, avoid spreading germs, and make recovery times shorter by staying home when sick.

Education: Teach about germs and how they spread! Explain how high-touch areas like computers, keyboards, doorknobs, and drinking fountains are hot spots for germs. And model washing your hands!

1 in 7 children in East Idaho struggle with hunger. We've accepted the challenge to help end hunger and are now challenging Idaho Falls Pediatric Dentistry (Kailey Housley).

You can help, too! Every dollar donated turns into $4.80 worth of food: https://account.venmo.com/u/Hall_Foundation. You can also round up to the next dollar at Good 2 Go locations, or donate food at Good 2 Go convenience stores and Just 4 Kids Urgent Care.

Hot weather brings fun activities, but also some dangers. Prevention is the best medicine. Drink lots of water, stay cool, never leave children in cars, and keep an eye out for signs of dehydration.

Children who are mildly dehydrated play less, urinate less, have fewer tears when they cry, and may have decreased bowel movements or loose stools. The soft spot on infant and toddler heads may also be sunken.

Severely dehydrated children are very fussy or sleepy, urinate only once or twice per day, and may have sunken eyes, discolored hands and feet, and wrinkled skin.
