Here is a laundry list of the types of massage that I offer! Let me know if any of these are something you need!
Traumatic injury Massage:
Traumatic injuries, such as injuries from an auto accident, can cause significant pain and damage to the musculoskeletal system. Massage can reduce pain and damage such as scar tissue and loss of range of motion and promote healing to help those injured return to a normal life.
Sports Massage:
Sports massage is a form of massage that is used to help athletes prepare their bodies for strenuous physical activity. It is often used before and after athletic events to help improve performance and prevent injuries. Sports massage can also be used to help relieve the pain and tension caused by injuries.
Oncology Massage:
Oncology massage is a form of massage that is specifically designed for people who have cancer. I am trained to work with people who have cancer and understand the unique needs of cancer patients. Oncology massage can help to improve quality of life for cancer patients by reducing pain, improving sleep, restoring range of motion lost from surgery, reducing swelling, and aid with neuropathy symptoms. Massage can also help pre-operation for those preparing for reconstructive surgery by increasing normal range of motion in fascia that may be restrictive and limiting for reconstruction. Massage can help with post-operation by helping affected muscles and fascia avoid scar tissue buildup and regain and retain normal motion.
Myofascial release:
Myofascial massage is a type of massage that focuses on the fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles. Myofascial massage is said to help relieve pain and tension in the muscles and fascia, and is commonly used post surgery to restore normal range of motion.
Lymphatic Drainage:
Lymphatic drainage massage is a type of bodywork that encourages the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. It is used to treat edema (swelling) caused by poor lymphatic flow, as well as to stimulate the immune system. The massage includes light, rhythmic strokes and gentle stretching to increase lymph flow.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. It is a more intense massage than Swedish massage, and it requires special training and a strong touch.
