Meet the midwife: I am Ivy Allen, a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) registered with the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and licensed in the state of Idaho proving women and families midwifery care in Southeast Idaho.

I began my midwifery training in 2021 through the National Association of Registered Midwives (NARM) under their Portfolio Evaluation Process which combines education and hands-on experience under the guidance and direction of registered NARM preceptors. I mainly completed my clinicals working in a Wisconsin Amish community.

Alongside my current certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation through the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Adult CPR/AED, I am professionally trained as a birth doula have specialized training in birth emergency skills through Breech Without Borders and Birth Emergency Skills Training (BEST).

My passion for birth advocacy and support stems from personal experience, inspired by my own challenging pregnancy and birth journey. I enjoy empowering families with informed choice and believe deeply in respecting each person's autonomy and providing respectful, supportive care during both wonderful and challenging birthing experiences.

Beyond midwifery, I spend my free time hiking with my son, tending to my house plants, and reading.

We are excited to start offering a free monthly postpartum support group! Our first meeting will be Tuesday, November 5th. Share and invite a friend!

Meetings will be held the first Tuesday of each month from 11-12 at the Postpartum Haven. Zoom is also available for those who aren’t able to make it in person (private message for link).

Come socialize with and get support from other moms in your same stage of life. There are no restrictions on age of baby. You are welcome to bring other young children if needed. Birth workers are welcome.

Discussions will generally center around postpartum recovery, newborn care and sleep, feeding support, mental health, and navigating how to nurture yourself.
